Another thing that I seem to have noticed is the newer members try and just spam and rack up their post count rather than actually post on interesting things and stay in the topic to discuss it. For instance I saw a member the other day that joined last month and had 2,100 posts.....

Oh yeah, that's totally my style. Here since 2005, still a Curate... What am I doing wrong?!?! Wait, maybe I don't just say what I mean, but mean what I say.

Nope. I tried. But yeah, this is just a very mature forum. Hell, even without the mods, there'd be much less spam and trolling than I see on most other gaming boards. Plus, now that Skyrim has been announced, that means I'll be posting both on those boards and here in CD soon enough, so I predict a large spike in my activity around here.

I joined after playing "Morrowind" and was especially impressed by the Lore forum and Loranna's Lore RP. Good times. The forums have lost many of their best people, such as Allerleirauh, her husband Rhedd, and Solin; they were fans of ES games from the beginning. I can't muster the same enthusiasm as most of the Skyrim forumites, but I'll stick around for the upcoming game.

Whenever I go to other game forums, they're usually flooded with new members. As opposed to this forum, I remember when I joined in 08 they're were plenty of people around that are still around now. What do you think of the way people stick around here?

A number of reasons:

Morrowind and Daggerfall are the kind of games alot of people play for years.

There's a good bunch in CD; I'd miss some of them if I left.

To be honest though, I've noticed alot of older members disappearing. Zanthia and Sugardrive, Stealth Junkie (where are you

), Ema (although I have seen him post recently), Rumpleteasza (again, I see the odd post, and she's still somewhat active in her fan fiction thread), and a load more people I used to see almost daily here.

I suppose you could say the same about me though; I only make a few posts a month these days.

Been here a month longer than you and still an Adept. Lurkers represent?

And the reason I still peruse this forum years later is 100% because of CD. When I first joined I was like "hey, this place has some ok moderation". Then I started playing WoW and after about a year on the official World of Warcraft forums I came back here and was like "Oh. My. God. Where are the trolls? the blatant flame-baiting? The screeching, frothing-with-rage posts about X fight in Y game being .00000000001% in favor of a certain race/class?"

This is definitely the most well-moderated internet forum I've ever found. True story.

Yeah, it'll be eight years for me next month, which is a pretty long time to have regularly read the same forum. Granted, I've not visited for months at a time, and I don't post too often. But there will always be a new Elder Scrolls game to come back here and talk about, and inevitably Fallout 4. It's a nice community, and it is in general a far more mature forum compared to others on the web.

Mods do a good job and good community. Literally every other forum I've gone to has Mods that don't do anything or are completely drunk with power.

I'm guessing ManaUser
