Isn't it amazing how many old members there are on this foru

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:04 am

It's a great forum. Good community, the games it is centered around are good, there's decent moderator work, and it's where much of the modding magic happens. Plus there's this community discussion forum with (usually) some interesting topics.

Why would anyone want to leave? Is it even possible? :bolt:

Great points all around, and also the developers reside on here and say something once in a while as well. I've been a member of several game forums, but this one definitely has me coming back due to everyone and the games.

Not old, but definitely regular. I tend to jump from forum to forum (sure, I know I'm not the only one); first came Oblivion, then Fallout 3, CD, New Vegas, and now Skyrim...in limited visits. Not really much to talk about there that interests me yet...too much speculation.

After nearly two years here I don't consider myself a noob anymore, but certainly not as old as some of you.

when I joined in 08 they're were plenty of people around that are still around now.

You think someone who joined in '08 is an old member?

You young whippersnappers, you have a lot to learn. Now get out there and finish shoveling the snow off my driveway. ;)

Kids, the lot of you.

I stick around because there's always been at least a few people here who I get on with, and occasionally some decent discussion... And also habit...

Pretty much this.

I laid low during the heat of the Oblivion era and just played when I could or felt like it. Needless to say I missed a lot of neat mods and stuff. Fallout 3 brought me back active. Looking forward to Skyrim but I can only take so much of that forum for now, so I hang out here and the Morrowind forum mostly, as I've lost interest in Oblivion for now, only because I'm playing Morrowind a lot. Bethesda forums are the best I've ever come across for so many reasons....it feels like family after a while.

People stick around because this is a (mostly) mature, well moderated place for people to discuss anything they wish. As long as what they wish does not involve religion or politics.

This basically.

I don't really consider my self old, more so in my prime.

I love this community. The people on these forums are some of the kindest, most intelligent people I've ever met on the Internet. I intend to stay for a while yet :)

My original account and when I first started visiting the forums was back in the summer of 2004 (or 2003 I can't remember ) but when they made the switch to the new forum layout (the one forum layout before this new one, which I thoroughly detest by the way) something went wrong with the e-mail system and I couldn't recover my account. I didn't have time to visit these forums and a couple years later I made this new account.

By far the best (and only) forum I keep up with. Haha the brings back the memories of Morrowind. Ahh, the good old days. I love you guys. ;)

I remember when the link to the forums was "elderscrolls.com/forums" and now it's a broken domain! Oh wait, I remember when Oblivion wasn't even a thought.

Hey anyone remember when Oblivion first came around and the "German Video" was floating around the Internet and all the Mods would ban the video from being posted on these forums?

I could talk all day about the nostalgia of these forums...you guys have helped me so much through the years.

Oldest forum I still frequent I joined in 2001. I see there's a few accounts on this place dating back to 2002 as well. If you asked me back then, I would have thought we had moved on to an entirely different standard of forums by now.

I'm an old one. Came in 02 as Gamgee, but somehow my original profile got deleted (forum purge or something). So then I came back in 04. Oh sweet lovely green how I loved you so. I think I only ever posted once or twice, not really all that sure. :( http://web.archive.org/web/20031008142420/www.elderscrolls.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

Edit
I know for a fact I at least made my account around then. It was another half year until I turned 13 *cough*

Edit2
Looking at that calm green page makes me feel sad we don't have that any longer. I'm getting back that headache from bad forum design again, proving just because you adapt to the symptoms of eye strain doesn't mean it isn't happening.

Yeah, I come here almost every day. Have since 2006 or so. Usually "lurk" anonymous though. I always have atleast 4 tabs open to different parts of the forums. This is a great place to just hang back and there are plenty of good people here.

This is one of the best communities I've seen in a gaming forum, no small thanks to our diligent moderators. It's also the home of my two favourite franchises (Elder Scrolls and Fallout). How could I stay away!

This forum has grown a lot over the years, but manages to keep a good character. I must admit, however, that I miss the halcyon fishy-stick days. But that's just me being old. :D

Going on five years in April. It'll be four years and three months that I've been active nearly every day in April, though. I don't really have any plans to leave. My rhythm is too set on checking here on a daily basis.
