I just bought Crysis 2 Maximum Edition from Steam last weekend. I've been playing it over these few days without any problems when suddenly I got to the "Lab Rat" story in the game. After trashing the terminal, the helicopter comes and you have to take out the gunners. I take out the first gunner no problem but then when I try to take out the 2nd gunner, my PC freezes and shuts down automatically. This is the first time this has ever happened to me and so far has only ever happened in Crysis 2.
I've heard that lowering the graphic settings and sometimes even the resolution helps get around this problem. So I've done just that, but no matter what, at that specific event in the game, I basically bluescreen and my PC shuts down. I've since then reinstalled the game but the same issue still persists.
Is this an on going issue with Crysis 2 (Maximum edition or not)? If so, is there a way to resolve this? I've tried Googling some tips and answers to my specific situation but as far as I can tell there's not a single post out there that can relate to what I'm experiencing.
Before anyone asks, I have checked all my temps, and they're all fairly normal from my processor to my graphics card. All of my drivers are updated and I don't have any known viruses.
I have a 700w powersupply, a GTX 660ti 3GB graphics card, 12GB of RAM, an i7-960 processor, and an ASUS Sabertooth motherboard.
