An issue with shouting

First of all, I'm sorry if I posted this at the wrong place. I just need some help with an issue I have encountered.
I've been playing and modding Skyrim since it came out. And now I've bought the Legendary re-release of the game to get back into it during the summer.
I installed all the usual mods I used before (nothing script intensive; just armors and weapons) and the game started acting weird this morning. Everything is just fine (better than ever, I might add) except for the shouts. Here's the deal; when I use Unrelenting force or any other shout that affects human (and human only) NPCs, the effect of that shout happens several seconds AFTER I shout.
For example, Unrelenting force (full shout; Fus Ro Dah) first staggers the NPC so that he falls on his knees and does not throw him into the air until after he tries to get up. The Cyclone shout (only the first word) runs through the enemies and only afterwards picks them up.
What I'm saying is that the effect of the shouts seems to happen several moments after that it's actually supposed to happen. Note that this is not the case with the shouts that affect me, the player, but only the ones that deal with the humanoid NPCs. Also, I did not mod the shouts in any way. As for the NPCs, I installed the XP32 skeleton. However, this "lag" did not happen when I installed the skeleton. It doesn't seem that modding caused it, as yesterday the game worked fine and today it doesn't. I did not install any mods in this timeframe.
I'm trying to avoid uninstalling and restarting the game. Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't gotten the words yet. However, I seem to have solved the problem. It indeed was a mod that was causing the ruckus. A mod that adds sounds. Weird, I know. But everything seems to be fine now so I guess that the problem is gone.
If anyone else gets this issue, the mod that was causing it for me was Sounds of Skyrim from the Nexus. I should note that the mod worked fine for a couple of days until it went haywire, so the problem could be somewhere else. I'll post here If I get any more intel.
Shadow, thanks for asking either way.
