Issue with the 'making of' DVD

This has probably been discussed a zillion times, but it's been 2 years since I first saw the 'making of' DVD
that came with the collector's edition. It's an interesting video, but the overall feel of it, it just doesn't feel
right. Especially the guy (don't remember his name) who specificly mentions that they now own it, that it's
theirs and that it's their child. He acts as if they made Fallout 1 and 2 and thought it all up themselves.

I'm not anti-Bethesda (I love Fallout 3) nor have I played Fallout 1 and 2. But I think that if I were in a big
game company and would buy the Fallout rights, I'd show a little more respect towards the original games
(who many people seem to love) and its creators. In a closing note, I would have called it Fallout D.C.

Edit: Typo's

I'd say the fact that Bethesda contracted out Fallout: New Vegas to Obsidian shows a fair amount of respect. Some of the people who work there were the ones who created versions 1 & 2.

That's true, I hadn't thought of that.

I haven't seen said DVD nor have I played any other FO games, but just from reading this comment I think it can be taken a couple ways. I think that especially when it comes to something artistic or creative, people regularly refer to their creations as their "children" as a term of endearment -- they are using it to express how much they do actually care about it, that they use a lot of thought and planning in its creation. They respect the fact that Fallout is a franchise, and the original developers put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into it, and that out of respect for it they felt they really needed to take it under their wing as their own child, so to speak.

That is my objective two cents!
