i've just figured out that workbenches do not share items. each workbench has to have its own inventory *and this after i spent AGES clearing out every available location that i go to and bringing everything back to santuary*.

heres the problem...when arriving at any other settlement that i have established, there is a small inventory in the workbench. BUT i tried to build a defense turret; knowing that i have the available items in my sanctuary inventory, but could not build the turret in that settlement. so i ran back to sanctuary, got the needed items and brought them to the other settlement and dropped them into the inventory there, thinking i would be able to build the turret.....but the game wont let me. it says i need 1 oil and 2 gears and ive brought 2 oils and 6 gears and still cant build that darned turret!!

what am i doing wrong???

i can build this exact same turret in sanctuary, and have all the necessary componants and perks!

Strange, anyways if you want to focus on settlements you proabably want to have the local leader rank 1 perk.

That way you can make supply lines between settlements and share inventory (not actually sharing but you have access to all junk as a resouce for building in all connected settlements)

To make supply line, enter build mode target settler and press Q

i had to leave and come back, it let me do it after that. i think it was a glitch?
