Issues with a door.

Post » Fri Apr 08, 2011 7:15 am

I am having issues with this door, and I cannot think of what is causing it. But, I am only having issues with it in one instance. The object is UnderworldEntranceDoorInterior.

I have it in my cell, and in the geck, it is facing the correct way. But ingame it faces sideways, angled 90 degrees. I have tried deleting it, exiting the geck, then remaking it. Rotating it 90 degrees the other way so if it did it ingame, it would line up properly... But it still faced the same way ingame.

I am begining to think that for some reason the door is not rotatable at all. For I have it in another cell, and it is facing the correct direction. But the working ones rotation is 0 on the Z axis, and the broken ones is 270. Upon turning the broken one to 0, it is facing the same way as it does broken ingame. So I guess I just cannot rotate it for some reason? Is this the issue? Do I just need to rotate my entire cell 90 degrees? (Renavmeshing it all D:) Or is there another solution? I also have it in a third location outside, but by chance it is also at 0 degrees. So the only 'broken' one is at 270, and it orientates itself to 0 ingame no matter what... Thanks for any help.

Yick! I have never seen a door do such strange things. The door does the same thing in my cells - it must be specially hard-coded to appear that way. It is also one of the only doors I have seen that is one-sided only (with the back transparent).

The solution? Choose another door. :)

Alright then... Its the one that best fit what I am using it for, but I guess I will just use another one instead. It won't be too big a deal. Alot of doors actually have transparent backs, some of the office ones, and industrials. They are meant for outside I think, so they never have to animation opening or closing so its to save processing power/time or something.

Why not give BLD08ValksDoor and BLD08ValksDoorINT a try? Or how about DoorStorefront01 or DoorStorefrontDbl01 ?

I use both of those doors as they look like store/shop doors, and are not far at all from UnderworldEntranceDoorInterior.

And these do rotate nicely. :)

Cheers,

The information on the door may have become corrupt if you are using a dirty save game.
Try a save game where your mod was not EVER active.

It may have also become corrupt if you used the 'search & repleace' feature in the geck on that door.

I would recommend deleting the door and placing a new door from the object list and seeing if that fixes it.

Its not from a dirty save as I usually use a clean one when I test (never had my mod active before). I also have already tried deleting it and replacing it, and I did not use the search and replace thing. I think the door just wont rotate ingame for some reason. Probably an issue somewhere in the nif or something. I am just going to try one of the doors that Miaximus has suggested, as its not all too important, as long as it looks similiar.
