It seems that a group of Italian modders have compiled a large collection of mods that they're in the progress of releasing. I doubt they asked permission for using these mods so just a heads up if any of your mods are on the list.

GAAAH!

Well, all I can say is that my MHP will soon be out of date (by
way of update, that is), so anyone using this (shudder) compilation
will be using files that will directly conflict with the new ones.

Yeah, compilations are outdated very rapidly and a pain to update. The graphics package is 1.5 GB and already is sort of outdated right now, lacking the last couple of tree/grass mods... I'm curious as to which version of MGE they're using as well, apparently it comes with pregenerated distant land and a selection of shaders active. People who download this have no clue what they're putting in their game. But hey, their loss.

Compilations can work but they just don't most of the time.

i have seen the work, and its unuseful for me. I prefer no MGE/MWSE, because i'm linked at my old, dear mods, and i'm quite content to have the world as he is now.
As an old player, that have seen a lot of things come and go and have our simpathies and antipathies in this area (Morrowind modders), i consider themselves a bunch of inconsistent people, their work will not come at the end, because they place in a single pack too much things together.

Maybe some day i will create a Morrowind Light pack just for those that can't have a super-muscled computer, and want play a good game without problems, or for those that not want a super-complicated-ultra-iper game extra-coloured but without soul, but because i'm a damned perfectionist and a Mumin'in, inshallah i will do things very better than those ones:)

Now Ajira will win the bet with Galbedir:D

A final note: HELLUVA weapon was a thorn in the side, i have from a lot of times and damned him i can't reach to erase from my puter, not run in every way and take only space to other and better things. Never another HELLUVA in my life, alhamdulillah!

Don't this guys understand english - or do they just completely ignore the requests in the readme?

With Children of Morrowind I have specifically asked that it should not be upoaded anywhere else and that it should not be reused without my knowledge *). All of you that where here at the time ofthe release remember why - the long discussions to get parents to agree to using the voices of their children, and how I gave them my word to 'protect' Children of Morrowind.

Seriously - how do I handle this?

Considering that I have given my word to others, I cannot just let this thing slide and accept it.

Any suggestions?







*)(If they had requested to do a translation to italian, my suggestion would have been that they'd make the esp-file and link to me for the main files. That's how translations to other languages has been done)

Like, say Julan and Great House Dagoth. And they're going to translate them ALL? Have the any idea how long that's gonna take?? I've had two people talk to me about translating Julan in the past, and the results have been poor, from what I've heard. They tend to introduce bugs. You know what else tends to introduce bugs? Combining massive amounts of mods!

So, basically, I see no way this compilation isn't going to end up *INSANELY BUG RIDDEN* with no way to figure out what's causing said bugs. And you know who will be getting confused emails in Italian about bugs I have no way of dealing with? ME, and lots of the other modders on this list, probably. Woo, funtimes ahead! Assuming they actually release this monstrosity, will they promise to take on ALL tech support for the translated plugins? Sigh...

Maybe ask an italian speaking modder who posts here to directly tell the author(s) of this compilation to remove your work? This way the language barrier excuse no longer works. I hope you'll be able to get your work removed from this compilation.

Slightly off topic, but many companion mods and other complex works like the Arktwend TC, Swords of Perithia... have been translated into other languages, and the translations I've tried are very bug-free. In fact, I've sometimes tried two different versions of a same mod (English and French), and the translated versions are generally more stable. :P

I do agree about the mod conflict problems though.

Well I'm currently using that graphics and sound overhaul and imho it's pretty good.
Saves me a lot of downloading and searching for all the seperate mods. I only needed to add a few recent updates to it like Vurt's work, SWG skies and the latest MGE build ofc.

About translations, the only thing I noticed was some signs like the rat in the pot got changed to Italian but all of the books haven't.

All in all its a very good download for bringing Morrowind up to date for 2010 without much hassle.

Edit: That list in first post isn't up to date because certain mod's are not included like Vality's work to name something.

Well I'm currently using that graphics and sound overhaul and imho it's pretty good.

I don't expect there'll be many problems with a collection of graphics mods, stability/conflict wise anyway. The gameplay part sounds like it's going to get messy though.

Hi guys, I'm back to BGSF after its massive graphics overhaul (!)... and get shocked reading about another story of disrespect towards the mods' authors wishes. :(

I totally agree with you. As I posted in http://forums.elricm.com/emma/viewtopic.php?t=5299&start=0, I guess these guys simply aren't aware about the guidelines of the ES community, or are too lazy to understand them.
What should we do then? What do you propose?

As it happens, I have ties to one or two members of the officially non-existent fraternal society known as Membro del comitato di vigilanza modders - an ad hoc group of, shall we say, concerned citizens who do not like to see other people have their intellectual property disposed of in ways that they (the other people, not the Membro del comitato di vigilanza modders) might not like, and they (the Membro del comitato di vigilanza modders, not the other people) would be happy for a small fee to pay these individuals a short but friendly visit and persuade them to rethink their position on this matter.

This is the same mod that got me and Darknut angry months ago. I talked with KingPix stating clearly that i don't give any permission to include my mods in his project. They (KingPix) erased my mods and put the overhaul in standby waiting for a better moment to a release. They KNOW perfectly that this is not the way to do things, like some of they stated time ago, they dont care at all about what we think about the control of our work, they like the easy way.
Perhaps we need to clarify to the people interested in play the game the fact that a external repack of mods can create a lot of problems and breaks the possibility for the mod creators to maintain his work in good health.

Yes, it seems that the overhaul include some of my textures but i will not sign in these forums. Basically i think its a pity i cant control my released work, obsolete from my point of view. The reality its that if the overhaul never existed my compendium had been released time ago but the bad mannered attitude from some people there push me to decide to delete my mods from PES to retake the control of my own work with the idea in mind that my compendium was nearly finished and i can upload my mod in a controllable way. Then RL push me in other direction creating a hole in time where my mods are unreachable. That was an error in some way cause had punished the people that want to download my mods in the correct way creating a hole in time when people dont know how to get my mods. Finally i decided to take all the time needed to finish the compendium for my pleasure. The good news its that a released compendium will be a far better experience than the expected release months ago.
I will release the future mods with and extensive readme including the license terms. I cant do a police work prosecuting people that try to take other work or make a bad use but i can inform about how I do want things to go, in which terms, etc.... its others fault if they dont follow the stated rules.

Beta tester? I was trying it out, I've no contact with them at all. Anyway the video title and description have been changed and if anyone knows what exactly this thing contains (I'm assuming it's more than the ESPs) post it here or on the Nexus thread and I'll list them in that videos description.
