its...annoying

hey everybody, fisher here :flamethrower: ,

so i have just made a dark elf, an effective look-a-like to dear old Relmyna Verenim, of whom she is hald-sisters with.

my orginal intentions was to send her into the shiveirng isle, become sheogorath etc etc...but , as i stood outside the sewer gate, enjoying the sunshine, i noticed the gleaming white ruin over the river, and decided to investicate.

anyway, i basically worked my way through the entire ruins, snatching those precious welklynd stone ( i am a atronoch so they are very important to her) and for the first time, i noticed that aylied statue!

her back story is that she too was in the mages guild, and she too was banned for her study on the 6th element, she has a brilliant mind, but is something of a necromancer ( and those robes right at the end were a nice touch) , but during the ruins i had a lot of time to think, andi m beginning to have doughts, should i just drag her out of her story and...set off ?

i have been battaling with myself for a while now, but ive ecided to leave it to you guys, stay in cyrodil or go to the isle?

if im going to stay here, if you have any ideas on how i could exspand her owuld be really fab!

ta, fisher and errol

I think the point of this game is to make up your own story, so I′m not gonna help you with this  :foodndrink:

Urrrr uhhh I have no idea. I have never tried Shivering Isles yet. You'll have to ask your character. I understand your apprehension, though, I've been there myself questwise with some of my chars.

Well, ok then. If you are having second thoughts about what your character should be and do, then maybe you should abandon your initiate thoughts. If you don′t like what she has become then you won′t enjoy playing her. But I would suggest try her out for a while, see where it goes. Maybe you will start to like her after a while :)

Its really simple see, Do you prefer SI Or Cyrodill? if you prefer Cyrodill, just say that your dark elf isn't sisters with Relmyna or that she is but she moved to Cyrodill, that's all I'm giving you, now you create the story, that's one of the things you need to do on your own or you won't enjoy the game/

I think you're starting to experience character-based role-play, where the demands and interests of the character are more important than those of the player. That's how characters grow... We listen to what they tell us, and then we let them decide which way to go.

I thought that my latest character and I had an understanding about the importance of dealing with the Oblivion Crisis, but last night she decided it was much more important to go off searching for her friend Dar-Ma. After rescuing her friend, she took it upon herself to clean out the cult involved, and drop a certain "book" into the lava inside an Oblivion Gate. So much for control!

I’d say follow your character, if you’re having fun.

I had a false start the first time I tried the Shivering Isles. Loaded up the character, she picked out her gear, and we went… hunting in the Imperial Reserve. Later I loaded a different character for what I thought would be the last time before I saved over her only game, and she headed straight for the SI. Still having a blast with both characters.

I say follow do what comes natural. Which is to follow your character where they lead you. You will probably find it is a much richer gaming experience, because by doing so, you can see the same old world though entirely new eyes.

^^ That. IMHO ... loose the backstory. Something that intricate of who's related to who can only limit your character once leaving the sewers. You've already pre-planned. Let your character tell you. You can have an idea or concept, but they tend to have minds of their own.
