Dont know if there was a topic on this(most likely) but i started one anyway
So years ago deep down in all our hearts we all knew that a new elder scrolls would come out but there was allot of speculation as to which province it would take place in
most people i knew where certant it would take place in summerset isle due to the talk you hear about there being problams over there..so the questions are

1 where did you think it was going to take place in and why?

My reasoning: No reason. I'd just love to play an Elder Scrolls game set in Elsweyr, that's all.

Sounds like it would be more accurate to say you hoped it would be in Elsweyr to me, that's different from expecting it. I would have liked an Elder Scrolls V in Elsweyr too, but I did not really expect it. Even before Skyrim was announced, I expected it to be set in Skyrim, mainly because there were already signs pointing to that, like Bethesda copyrighting the name of Skyrim, why do that unless to make a game set there?

summerset isles, i think it was mainly because it was mentioned a couple of times in oblivion and because i wanted to see it

I kinda figured it was gonna be in Skyrim but wasn't 100% sure, especially with all the speculation that was going on in teh forums. I'm quite happy with the Skyrim location and all that. Back when I first played Morrowind my first character was a Nord that wielded a big hammer and at that time didn't know anything about Skyrim so it's kinda interesting we'll get to go to the land of the Nords now. Bring on the ice and snow!

Honestly, I didn't give it that much thought, but I'd heard rumours about it being in Summerset Isle. Very pleased they went with Skyrim.

The name Skyrim was trademarked years ago so that kinda gave it away.

Though it would have been nice if Blackmarsh was the setting.

I knew it was going to be Skyrim the moment the report from the patent office came in, stating that Bethesda had trademarked the Skyrim title for Software-Game Manuals, ect.

Before that? In order of what I thought would be most likely and why:

Summerset Isles: They wanted to do this already, Morrowind was originally going to be set on the Summerset.

Skyrim: It just seemed like the time. Maybe it's just my area, but it seems like the whole "Viking" thing is sort of taking off a bit.

Valenwood/Elswyr: Either/or both. With Oblivion, we saw the ability to effectively render many trees. Valenwood would have taken that to the moon and back, but still.

i was positive it was in summerset Isle like positive and when they said skyrim i was so upset because i pictured just snowy mountains everywhere. After seeing all the screenshots and videos i think this will be the best TES game yet
