Itunes Library Deleted Itself

Post » Sat Jan 29, 2011 3:57 am

So, I don't know what happened, but that doesn't matter now because what's done is done. So you're probably saying "why not just re-drag all your music in to your library?", well what happened is I would delete the music files off of my computer after I uploaded them to my library to save room on my computer. Now, I took a gamble, and this time I lost. So instead of going through the slow process of one-by-one adding all my music back on to my computer and then back into my itunes library I have found a program called "pod to pc" that does what it's name implies, and copies the files from your ipod on to your computer. Right now I'm clearing a lot of files out of drive D to make room for my 35 gigs of music and videos. Has this happened to anyone else/ has anyone else used this "pod to pc" program?

You can't just copy and paste? Are iPods really that restrictive?

I do the same as you. But I've never heard of the program. All I can say is good luck. =/

Yeah, that happened to me recently as well. I still had all my music on my PC so it was easy enough to put it all back. Though now I am missing a movie and 3 tv show episodes, I better contact their customer service soon about this.

Never happened to me :P

Yes. It's to keep people from sharing their library by swapping iPods. It's why also the default setting is to delete songs on sync from your iPod that are not in your music library.

So at the risk of sounding like an annoying open-source fan: the solution is to get a Creative Zen or other comparable device.

That just sounds horrible.

That's why I use Winamp.

Which you too can download for free and use to get the music from your ipod back on your pc in a matter of minutes!

That made me sound like a really poor advertisemant, but it's true.

I can relate. I lost 30 gigs of music, the ability to play PC games, and all my pictures when my computer fried. Still recovering from that loss a year and a half later.
