Level scalings better than having all enemys pre set with how tough they are.

I would be okay with a mix of the two, areas have a certain limits on how weak or powerful the creatures there could be.

Devo, so all people play games because they look cool, go play CoD or something. Take your game-bashing somewhere else, it aint appreciated here, by anyone, not even newer fans, as it makes them look bad.

Great story! Hahaahaa!!! You and vlazkov should kiss and make up! lol, oh and Mako....http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Forum:Fallout_and_Fallout_2_general_discussion lets keep this about games that we play that look cool and thats why we play them!

Other wise... I'm playing as three dog (legion member) and after 6 botched attempts at a playthrough... yes this game is boring!

What is your problem? Dont make fun of the games just because you think graphics mean everthing please give me a break.

@mako i think thats something I would like.

Fallout 1 and 2 did not have "crappy" graphics. I would argue that they just as good, but in a different art style. Have you seen some of the God awful textures in FO3 and FNV?

One of my favorite videos, man the death animations of the originals were badass.

Oh, so you play the games solely for the graphics. And you are taking a pride in it. :whistling:

Why play Fallout 3 and NV then? They both have crappy non-realistic cartoony art style.
Why not throw the PC outta the window and watch the TV instead? I am pretty sure there's no '2D' in there you despise so much.

Well, whatever floats your boat.

I don't look cool playing any video games, not even COD. Its pretty hopeless, considering that most gamers are called "nerds."

Having fun? More like ostracizing yourself, it is that kind of attitude that makes the newer fans look bad.

and I am seeing more reasonable new fans lately, ya just have to look over the extremes on both sides, the avid loyalists of the Dinosaurs and the, uh, well, Devo made himself a good example.

It depends on how they handle it. If it's "nonlinear" and if the game is structured so that the scaling doesn't interfere with characterprogression (by diminishing the sense of getting better and destroying any challenge), it can work fine. Risen (iirc) for one, succeeded quite nicely with this.

Easy Sargent! I wonder what is supposed to keep my interest when a franchise releases a game that was supposed to be more in line with the originals and yet bugged so badly I can't make it to the end! Of all other things Fo3 was outstanding playability and, for me, (IMO) ... was a great new look for a FPS! But what do I know? I should go get a Nintendo fired up and re-learn about the roots for which I've obviously forgotten! Shame on me! :cryvaultboy:

Maybe you should :teehee: , i dont like having to say this so often, your experience with the game is unfortunate, but it is uncommon.

This discussion is now completely off-topic but hey ho!
I only got into Fallout when FO3 came out but I recently bought the FO1/FO2/FOT collection and I have to say the graphics are certainly NOT 'crappy.' Especially considering they were made like 10-15 years ago. In fact, I prefer the NPC faces (in conversation screen) much more to FO3/FO:NV because they are more detailed and generally (to me anyways) more aesthetically pleasing, and I think that some of the face rendering in the newer games looks a little bland in all honesty.
But, that's my two-cents. And I certainly prefer New Vegas over FO3 any day, even with the absence of Three Dog.
And you know, guys, people CAN have differing opinions. There's no use to [censored] at each other endlessly about it when no one is going to back down on what they believe.

Oh yeah? Poll that! Can you poll that without getting locked? Because I didn't sign up here to chit chat about the old days. I came here for answers and found that it can be interesting at times (general discussion), but fans of the game should not be labeled as "new fans" because they sign up for a forum about a broken game. So, poll that and out of 500 users in this forum..... who cares what the results would be because that's probably the only 500 people who still try to play the game and deny it has issues (like I do at times) but it's junk.

If your bored ... someone mentioned building a house out of junk you can pick up (shopping carts, barrels etc.) ... it's impossible!

That actually depends on what kind of "1000 rounds of ammo" you are using. 10mm should just piss 'em off, not annihilate them in less than 4 seconds. :sadvaultboy:

9mm should just bounce of them....

there does need to be some degree or type of level scaling, not like how it was in oblivion, that wasn't good, FO3 was pretty good i think, you became a bit too overpowered, but you're overpowered just as bad almost in NV, i like how there are enemies that can inflict a lot of damage early on in new vegas, that part is good, but as you level up its pretty lame to keep running into the same weak powdergangers near goodsprings, so as you level up you should face more enemies and better armed enemies, actually i think most of the human enemies need significantly more firepower, from the beginning of the game, but too many people would get their clocks cleaned i guess, but for someone who's into hardcoe combat there needs to be an option to give all enemies more firepower and more spawns, that way the newbies can keep it on the easy side.

This. Powder gangers were always a joke. They are almost the easiest enemy to take out(next to bloatflys). Its kinda bull that you cant even kill a Super mutant because its already set with Like lvl 20 gear, skills, and weapons.
