i agree, it is a waste of good companions, i liked veronica, but these few people who hate bethesda and defend NV so much, they're in denial, its a boring gameworld environment for the most part, there's a few bright spots but most of the map is just empty and the environment svcks, no good places do to battle, fighting ncr or ceasers legion around tents is lame, with no good cover or structures, obsidian just took the easy approach, oh lets make the game in a desert, put up some one room shacks, lets just make the ceasers legion bases and outposts all tents, its the most uniteresting environment in any game i have ever played, anyone trying to say its full of interesting locations and action and adventure to me is pretty funny.
I've accepted that fact that some people truly like FONV and are not bored with it. People have different tastes.
Lot's of people prefer intricate story lines and plenty of dialog and that can keep them going. They like being able to walk from here to there without encountering any hostiles. I guess they like the desert and its emptiness.
Me. I prefer lots of places to explore...subways, caves, vaults, buildings, etc...the more complex the better. I like finding those interesting little places with a little side story attached to them while exploring I like shooting things, so I like random encounters. I don't need my Fallout game to be realistic, just fun and action packed. I do prefer the different voices for the NPCs and the better writing and dialog options.
Personally, I agree that the FONV environment is uninteresting. I also find the gambling aspect uninteresting. I'm also really really bored with all the stuff. I spend more time trying to figure out what to do with all the stuff, yet I can't bring myself to leave it behind. :hehe: I am rolling in bottle caps in my second FONV game. Over 50,000!
I'm looking forward to a combination of FO3 and FONV in the next Fallout game. I hope that is what we get. Even then, not everyone will be happy with it.
