hello- im trying to find out if i can run Skyrim on my laptop but i just dont understand the technical jargon, you see i was playing on my 360 until it burnt out , i was going to buy a used one but then i remembered my old laptop and im thinking that if i can get the same quality from it as a 360 then maybe ill just get it for the laptop because then i can check out those mods. so its a Toshiba Satellite c655 laptop..... can it run skyrim and would it be worth it or shouild i just get a used 360? Also if it would be worth it is there a way to connect my wireless 360 controller to it? If not what controller should i buy? Thanks for your time

Sorry i forgot to add that i noticed that a dude made a mod that makes it possible for old pc/laptops to run Skyrim and i think that mine might work but i have no Direct X (whatever that is ) or video card that im aware of, its just low end stock, if i can run it without a special vid card would the graphics be close to 360?if not would the trade off of good graphics (360?) for Mods(laptop) be worth it? thanks again

What's the exact model of your Toshiba Laptop ??? (for example Satellite C655-S5049)

If it's a budget Laptop, most obviously it has a weak CPU with an On-chip graphics controller, so a weak GPU as well.

If that's the case, stick with your XBOX 360. !!!

All it says is C 655 so I guess the lowest tier one...so 360 would be better? That kinda svcks but maybe sacrificing graphics and overall gameplay quality wouldn't be worth the Mods PLUS I just remembered id also be playing on a tiny screen compared to my TV.

Thanks for your help,I guess ill stick with the 360 until I get a good PC what do you think the lowest PC would be for Skyrim?

With an Intel i3 and a GTX 960, you could easily play Skyrim at 1080p with mods. (of course not heavy mods like Realvision or Opethfeldt)

But there are plenty of mods out there at NEXUS that will work fine with that configuration.

----------

I wouldn't go for the lowest on a PC. If you buy a PC with the lowest only for Skyrim, newer games will run like S...., you don't want that.

At least, if you wanna spend money for a new RIG, it should last a bit. ;)

What's your XBOX 360 model ???

Here are some repair guides: https://www.ifixit.com/Device/Microsoft_Game_Console

Choose your console version...

fyi, a GTX960 is complete overkill for Skyrim, I was able to run it perfectly fine on a ATI Radeon HD 4650

Hey funnybunny you sound like you know what you are talking about,I was asking if I could run it on a Toshiba c655 can you help me figure this out?

Ive read other posts of people asking about low end laptops with Skyrim and this one dude made a mod that makes it possible but with low graphic settings, can I run it on a c655 and do I have to do it with low graphic settings?

Thanks for any advice

well thanks, i try :P

as to a C655, what version of the C655? if you look at the bottom of it (as in, underneath), you should see a code on a sticker that should say C655 -

what is after that dash?
