Lord Ivras in legend was chosen by the 15 Daedric Princes (Malacath was still Trinimac back then) to be their champion. Wearing Daedric armour and wielding the mighty swords known as the Talons of Padhome, he lead rebellions against Alinor's rule. The Daedric Princes wanted him to cast down the Aldmeri society and create a new empire. However, they constantly disagreed about what Ivras's empire should be lik3. This came to a head when he and Alinor dueled at Adamantine Tower. Some myths say the squabbling of his masters caused Ivras to heisitate for a single moment, allowing Alinor to land the killing blow. Others say that he was literally torn apart as the broken alliance of the Daedric princes attempted to force him to follow all of their wills at the same time. Yet others say that his armies turned on each other, allowing Alinor's legions to easily crush Ivras's forces. Whatever the case, his death ended the rebellions. The official translations of the Chim-Mnem Alinor agree with this villainous depiction.
However, an anonymous Aldmeri scholar published a book known as "The True Alinor". It claimed the Thalmor forced him, among the other translators, to revise the Chim-Mnem Alinor to match sanitized official histories of Alinor. In his book, he claimed that Ivras was from a simple Daedra-worshipping kingdom, and only took up arms because Alinor banned Daedra worship and threatened his traditional way of life. The infamous Razing of Skywatch, where Ivras slaughtered the majority of the city's population, was blamed by the scholar on Alinor, who killed thousands of Daedra worshipping civilians and claimed that Ivras's armies did it in order to prevent his citizens from hating him. The Aldmeri Dominion dismissed these accusations as treasonous slander, and executed the entire translation team as they couldn't find out who wrote the book. Despite this, The True Alinor has become popular amongst many opponents of the Aldmeri Dominion, and a few priests of Morrowind's New Temple even discuss honouring Ivras as a saint and precursor to Veloth. However, until these allegations can be confirmed or denied, we may never know the truth about Lord Ivras.
