Jamel's Story

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 8:51 am

I will post several scenes that I encounter throughout my time playing Jamel the she-ork. All scenes will stand alone. They will apply to no particular order as I will only write about scenes that I actually play and think deserve writing. Criticism is acceptable, but let's not be mean. My contributions will be sporadic. I may be inspired by one dungeon, and not find something to write about for several days, and then find three ruins that I want to write about. Suggestions are acceptable. Please slap me if you find something that is not lore-correct. However, bare in mind that Oblivion is not as lore-savvy as some of us would like.

A flash of red caught his eye. This was followed by a thud that made him grimace. Jauffre looked down at the amulet with something akin to disbelief. Was he, no of course not. He couldn't be looking at the King's Amulet. He reached out and picked up the amulet. A pair of iron boots came into view. He looked up towards the scowling ork that overshadowed his desk. "I did as I'd been asked. He said it was important." she stopped before his desk. "The rock was the Emperor's. He's dead now, if you didn't already know." She was defiant in neither her approach, nor her words. Yet, her overall air of indifference made Jauffre stand. "How did you find this?" he asked, walking around the desk. "A man gave it to me, Bram, or something similar. Told me to bring it straight to you. The man was a Blade, I didn't care to offend him. Not after what I had just seen."

He looked down at the amulet and the over at the poorly clad ork. "He sent this with you." his confusion was evident. "Can you think of anyone that would try taking an ork's jewelry?" she explained. Her smile was quaint. She didn't act like a woman that had watched the Emperor die. She didn't act much at all. Her words were quaint, and her actions unboastful. "He said a whole bunch about the jewels of Oblivion, and then something about an heir to the throne." she crossed her arms. "I thought they killed them three too."

Jauffre paced the room. "They did." He stopped pacing and followed the muddy footprints back towards the door. "Jaws." he turned as the ork followed him back towards the bookshelves. He walked in circles, his mind a buzz with questions and answers. "Close shut the Jaws of Oblivion, not jewels. That's what he said right before", she looked at Jauffre for a moment, "right before he died." She looked towards the ground.

Jauffre stopped walking about. He looked out the window towards the chapel. "You must find Martin. The last remaining descendant of the Emperor. The last of the Septum bloodline. This is our only hope." A lock clicked and he opined a chest on the floor. "You may take anything we have to offer. You must go soon. He may be in grave danger." Jamel rummaged through the chest before pulling out a mace and a bow. She pushed violet hair behind her ear and strapped the mace to her waist. Several potions made their way into her pack before she stood up. "I can leave soon, but will need a horse."

"Take mine" said a voice from the first floor. "I hardly travel nowadays."
"We will keep the Amulet of Kings here." said Jauffre. "Why would you do that?" asked Jamel. Jauffre sat back down at his desk. "I am certain it will be safer here."

I know it's something we have all lived through, but I felt it was a good way to introduce the character.
