James Bond Build

Post » Thu Aug 12, 2010 12:07 pm

Ok, so now that I have played through the game once, I am gonna do it again! This time I am going to play hardcoe all the way through. Anyways... my first guy was a straight up sniper. That was all there was to him. Now I want to make an assassin. So what do you think are some absoulte things I need to get? I was thinking id level up speech sneak guns melee, and now maybe explosives (after reading about how you can put c4 in peoples pockets and make them go boom sounds pretty awesome.

All I really want is ideas people! So let them flow!

Sneak, Guns (silence them if you can), Melee or Unarmed (for stealth kills), and why would you need speech?
I suggest Melee as third, because, you have throwing knives and stuff and knives and clubs.

Oh yeah I meant to say melee (me and my baseball bat have been stealth killing all over the mojave!) I wanted speech because it's my Bond character! Bond is suave as hell, and I need speech for that yo!

Ok, then, Speech (optional), Sneak, Guns, Melee (optional). That's correct, now? :spotted owl:

But what about the explosives! I know I'm spreading the skills out quite a bit but I figured I would try to get to 30 this time.. I made it to 26 my first run.. I just need to do way more quests. It's just hard to find them sometimes :(

Maybe you should just tag the 3 skills you want most and then raise the other 2-3 skills, later.
Oh, and with high sneak, you could sneak pistols (10mm silenced?) in casinos.

Hmm then I'd probably hold off on Explosives and ... what do you think? It's like I want the speech so I can pass some of the speech checks in the beginng but I also want a high sneak. Maybe I should hold off on guns for a bit because I cant get any good silenced ones right now anyways

Throwing knives or hatchets maybe? (although silenced guns is the way Bond rolls)

C4 deals a crapton of damage even without any explosives skill. If you only want it for C4, and not dynomite/gernades then you can skip explosives...

If you want to be James Bond then high Charisma, Speech, Guns, Sneak, Gunslinger and the Lady Killer perk are all essential.

Oh yes, high Luck as well - Bond ALWAYS wins at casinos and every shot from his gun is a critical hit. :)

try starting of with luck at 7 and charisma at 6, intelligence at 6 also perception at six. either strength or endurance at four so he can start with agility at 6. he isn't the biggest or strongest hero around. he relies on gadget and smarts to figure his way out of trouble. he is also agile.

Do you plan on using companions?
If so... then just use one of them as your purified water-carrier. I usually just use Ed-E.
Not hard to stock up on it.
Plus, boot Barter high early on, to get Pack Rat (so that all 2lb and less is halved, making water even easier to haul. And ammo of course

It gets easier as you go. You don't get rads from drinking out of toilets anymore... so anytime you see one just drink up.
If you raise survival skill then cooking meat will grant you all the food you ever could want. If you don't just pick up food in people kitchens... not that hard.
Sleep is something that almost never gets called up. I go 3 to 4 full day/night cycles before needing to sleep... don't sleep till you need to.
Honestly the only time for me when it became a problem is when you wait/skip time. I only travel after dark to make the most out of my low sneak skill so I am always waiting during the day...

Also on a side note I almost died of thirst on my first play threw because I never notices that Sunset Sasparirla actually makes you thirstier... I just kept chugging 'em wondering why it was not working...

Actually, depends on where you are.. some do, some don't. Always double-check. IE: some places have cleaned-up or get fresh water.. like Goodsprings.. some, like Nipton, and I think Primm don't still
