Hey, this is my first post
Hope I'm in the right place and haven't broken any rules.
Ok, to the bug, I want to buy Proudspire Manor but for some reason I can't.
I talked to Falk and did the quest "The Men Who Cried Wolf", I then went back to Falk and was finished with the quest, I heard I need to wait a couple of days till I'll get a letter from Falk telling me to come back and do another related quest, but none has arrived so far (It's been over 1 week game time).
I tried talking to him myself but nothing is happening except for the usual dialogue, so I tried talking to the Jarl and I got 3 dialogue options.
1: I need your help with something.
2:Enjoying the party?
3:Jarl Elisif, it's a pleasure to see you again.
I clicked 2 and 3 and I get the usual "Party is great, It's a pleasure to see you too" or something like that, but when I click option one I have the option to tell her to cause a scene or whatnot, but why?
Is this part of another quest? After I choose the option and trying to talk to her again she tells me "Go on and play your little joke" or something like that, I have no idea what to do, PLEASE HELP!

You need to do the Jarl's "help with something", complete and turn it in to her before she'll offer the house dialog.

Are you just using the "wait" function inside the keep ?`I could imagine that would bug it up.
Try fast traveling to one of the other big city's

Looks like you might have to use setstage in the console then :/

I have no idea how though I don't really understand what's written in the wiki.
By the way, I got the letter from the courier and killed Potema once and for all, went back to Falk and turned the quest in and completed it, but still no option of buying a house, and when I'm talking to the Jarl, still no option of doing a quest for her, I don't know why I have this option of playing a practical joke though...Frustrating as hell! Wish a moderator or someone could explain this to me

Perhaps it doesn't occur until you're a few levels higher? Try leveling up and see if you get the letter. If you're on PC there are ways to get the quest started via console, presumably.

startquest SolitudeFreeform07 should jumpstart the quest.

I'm not sure what the deal with the "party" or "prank" is.

EDIT: Tried the command in the console, the console seems to accept the command but does nothing.
I mean, there's no error message, but it's just no doing anything, talking to the Jarl won't help and in my quest log there's no new entry of this quest ><"

Tried both, setstage solitudefreeform07 20 seems to work a little, it puts a quest arrow above the Jarl's head and tell me to talk to her, but again when I do talk to her I have no option for this kind of quest, only the practical joke thingy, and the setstage solitudefreeform07 200 doesn't seem to be working ><"

Are you using any mods, or do you have a (misc) quest related to the "prank" or "party"? I've never seen those dialog options with her. If it's a quest you may have to finish it first to get the normal dialog options.

That's what I was thinking, But I don't see any quests related to her in the quest window, and yes I do use mods, but nothing that can ruin the game, at least I don't think so (mostly blacksmith/graphic mods).

Texture mods won't affect the game. Mods (using .esp files or modifying the running game by changing memory areas) that change more can have unforseen consequences, especially while the CK isn't out and most things are still unknown and based on trial and error.

So you think that if I disable all the mods it might work? Or the damage is already done?

Doesn't matter what caused it, the current (bugged) state of Elisif will be stored in the save game too, so removing mods now will probably have no effect. Still it would be interesting to find out why it's happening or where those dialog options come from (maybe a quest that wasn't finnished but got activated somehow), but I guess we'll have to wait for the CK to check this out.

CK as in Creation Kit? Sorry I'm just new to this forum and all the mods thing xD
And if so, when will it come out? And how can I check the problem using this CK?
Sorry for all the questions lol, it would have easier to resolve if a moderator or someone from a high place could answer this question, would save a whole headache for me and the people trying to help me with no success so far (You guys are awesome though )

Found something, look at this quest: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Tending_the_Flames (Spoilers) there you'll have to question her about a party. If you have this one active you may have to complete it first.

Well if you completed the war horn quest through the console then you should get the letter from Falk, but I you don't need to do the wolf queen quest pt. 2 in order to become thane, just the war horn. After the war horn she suggest you can become thane after you ask the usual "is there any else I can do for you my Jarl...yada". Anyway...

setstage favor252 10 should clear the house flag, but I have no idea what this will do so obviously save the game first. And I don't think moderators can necessarily help you more than any of us. A bethesda programmer could though lol

Apparently all I had to do is continue the "Diplomatic Immunity" Quest line, There's this party back the the Thalmor Embassy and I can ask the Jarl to creat a distraction or something like that, I'm done with this quest and now received that war horn quest, finally
