how bout little add-on to rebuild Helgen and become Jarl ? would be nice choosing your villagers and build new homes and stores.

I agree. We should make Helgen ours. That way, instead of 9 Jarls, there can be 10.

And, we can just take it from Falkreath Hold. Yep, no trouble.

Jarl=Hold.
Helgan isn't a hold its just a fortification.

Leader of Fort Helgan. Sure. Make it a sort of Homestead or small outpost or a small trading post or something. Sure I'm cool with that. But we can't be a "Jarl" if its not part of a Hold. I believe Helgan is with Falkreath in the first place.

Do you know of anyone who owns other settlements?

Riverwood, Karthwasten, Dragonbridge, Shor's Stone, Kynesgrove. Nobody owns them. Only the Jarl of the hold it is in.

Karthwasten is overseen by Markarth but "owned" by that one man. Technically.
Leader of the community would be more fitting.

How could you become Jarl when Falkreath hold already has a Jarl? the Jarl has his seat at the capital of the hold. The city of Falkreath.

Helgen wasn't even a city as it was just a town. it was was an Imperial garrison town situated near the road back to Cyrodiil. It was policed by the Imperial legion and didn't even have the Jarl's guards stationed there.

I'd rather have Winterhold made into something about the size of Helgen complete with stone walls and become Jarl of Winterhold (hold). The present Jarl could step down to be your steward and manage the hold in your absence.

or make Helgen independable and owned by the dragonborn ( considered a piece of land ) and rebuild house, stores, and choose the gaurds making it fun...

Why not just have a Helgen sized town built at the empty space surrounding the remains of the city of Winterhold? That way you also have the Mages Guild adjoining.

And you go down in history books as the one who rebuilt and save Winterhold. Winterhold is historically Skyrim's most important city.

It's already owned by the Jarl. Why would he give that?

I don't mind rebuilding Winterhold as long as I don't become Jarl.

You could build the city of Winterhold into a fortified settlement kinda like Battlethorn was. Only it will be complete with shops and an inn. That way you would have the Winterhold flag and banner as your own. You would even have your own hold guards.

As Winterhold become your personal hold, you could even have a personal set of armor and horse armor made with the Winterhold coat of arms.
