Jasmine, a Morrowind companion

i had the jasmine falling unconscious issue. from my game i concluded it was because my character was under encumbered as in i have a ton of stuff in my inventory and if i remove my armor (daedric) i can get my encumbrance to zero with stuff still in my inventory. i think my char is off by about 330 lb. so when ever i put jasmine in to follow she would collapse if i rested for an hour she was fine. not sure if that is similar to Zaqxavier's issue but that was mine though it could also be that i do tend to use super fortify potions like 1000+ strength for 36000+sec

on another jasmine note i haven't tried 2.3 yet i'm building a new game so i will soon but i noticed a "tryto" in the Charon topic you may have fixed it but it's easy to miss

and once again great companion! she will again be in my upcoming start over!

I probably overlooked that typo. Thanks for pointing it out; I'll fix it for the next update. :) Thanks also for the note about being under encumbered. I think what probably happened is that Jasmine is set to use your stats for her base stats using the follow my lead leveling system and if you're fortified, the script doesn't necessarily take that into account. Her scouting skills leveling system uses preset bases for each stat. I may have to look at the other leveling system and make changes if necessary.

I'm glad you like the mod. I had a lot of fun writing it and I love hearing about other people's experiences. :)

i had her take it in to account i have had her running around being able to carry 25000+ lbs it kinda svcked being that she would break a bow in 2-3 shots and run up and start punching

This a large thread with a ton of info.. so rather than risking spending an hour or so reading just to find out there is no post on the subject, I'll just ask it here and hope it hasn't been asked already. I see that jasmine has dialogue that revolves around the MQ. Does she conflict with Julan?

Like your character, NPCs can break their weapons if their strength is fortified, they're using a low quality weapon, or they use it a lot - like a companion would. I wish NPCs could repair their own equipment, but the only way for me to have Jasmine do that is to know exactly what she's wearing and that would mean I would have to turn off companion share.

She shouldn't. All of the new dialog revolving around the main quest is attached to her and Julan shouldn't be affected by it. Her personal quests touch a number of in-game NPCs, but none that affect Julan.

i actually just finished the main quest a couple days ago with both and there wasn't a single issue between them

Awesome thank you. You say it touches a few NPCs.. is that included in the read me? I use a few that mod existing npcs already and want to make sure I am free of conflicts. I'm getting on a bit of a companion kick.. only time I used some was from domehome a long time ago, and that was downloaded for the house. Never really wanted extra people to look after before. But now I realize I never gave these kind of mods their fair shake, so I'm trying a few out. I don't want my first time to be plagued with conflicts. :mellow:

By touching I mean that it adds dialog to them. I didn't modify the NPCs themselves or their scripts, so there shouldn't be any conflicts.

A list off the top of my head:

Elone
Surane
Sterdecan (sp?)
Sason
Irgola
Stendarr (I think)
Caius (only to tell you not to have Jasmine in his house).

I think that's it, but I may have missed an NPC or two. As far as I know and has been reported to me, there aren't many conflicts. This may conflict with Fliggerty's slave mod and Vality7's old Bitter Coast grass mod (it doesn't interfere with the MGE version), but those are the only two I know of.

Yes, I'm still working on this. :) 2.4 has been released to PES and GHF:

Added in a final quest for Deandre. You'll have to have found all of the Tall Papa books and convinced Surane to allow him to court her.
Fixed potential bugs with the journal not updating after defeating Waylas and Charon.
Removed certain topics after Jasmine comments on them.
Fixed Jasmine's telepathy ring.
Fixed spelling and grammar issues.

Fantastic, another one of my favorite mods gets an update before I get around to making up my new install - looking forward to running through this, Jac - think it has been since 2.0 or earlier since I played it, so I have a lot of fixes and updates to look forward to! Thanks for the great work.

Funny thing of it is, is that I had the resources for that last quest already in there, I just never had the start. :blush: Good thing, though; there were a number of issues I had to iron out with the last quest to make it work properly. :brokencomputer:

I ran into an issue. I saved Jasmine from the cave near Seyda Neen and brought her to her house, and once we were inside she asked me if I wanted to travel together. I clicked the topic but said no for now, but that made the travel together topic disappear, so now I have no way to get that option again. On top of that, Jasmine still wouldn't stop following me when I went back outside, and she kept telling me to bring her to her house.

You might want to have a look at that. ;)

You try telling her that. :P Anyway, to fix it, type set JasFollowing to 2 in the console. You don't have to click on her first. That should bring up the dialog topic again.

Well, I finally finished Tribunal (yeah, I know. Blame it on restartitis, save corruption and other priorities. :P ), which means that I'll be writing dialog for Jasmine based on the MQ there. I'll also be adding a small personal quest or quests centered around Jasmine, but I haven't ironed out the details yet. Thanks again for everybody that has downloaded this and left feedback. :)

Should be upgradable. I won't be touching Jasmine's or any of the other NPCs' scripts, so there shouldn't be any upgrading issues. I say that now, though...it's possible I could be wrong. :whistle:

Small update: Elaura asked that I use the swap places function from Abot's Guars mod and it will be in the next full release. this mods great, i can stay in my treehouse and the. pop down to jasmines when ever i want.... except i killed her.. well some guy in a dwemer ruin killed her, and then i saved over my latest save, so i was wondering if u made some sorta script that stuck her back in her house? i read the readme and didn't see anything about it but i may have missed something :facepalm: so.. anything i can do? :bonk: cause i dont want her dead for ever :glare:

call me dumb if you think i'm beeing dumb, i have no clue when it comes to scripting.............

EDIT: and Caius Cosades wont talk to me, thinks she's with me.. she's dead and he cant let go! :whistling:

If she's alive, talk to Elone and ask her where Jasmine is. If Elone won't say anything, type Set JasFollowing to 0 in the console. That should also fix Caius not talking to you. That reminds me, I need to put a check in that cell that resets that variable if Jasmine isn't close to you... Anyway, I'm glad you like the mod and let me know if you have any other problems. :)

Hi Jac,

I've just started the Main Quest with Jasmine as a companion, and for the most part have found her to be enjoyable and trouble free. I do have one small issue, and a wee puzzlement, however.

The issue:

when "we" are speaking with Caius Cosades, and he says Jasmine has to wait outside, she does her miffed "I'll wait at the Eight Plates" bit, and then just stands there... should she be teleporting herself out, and if she doesn't and I walk her outside and have her wait there, will that break anything, her story-wise? Julan was also in the room, and he of course has a similar "he'll have to wait outside" bit from Caius Cosades, if that is of any relevance.


And the puzzlement:

When I took Jasmine to Jobasha's bookstore, he had some dialogue about (paraphrasing here) "There is a book about Jasmine, but I don't have a copy right now. Come back when I have it, blah blah." Only Jobasha does have a copy of "An Affair of Bards" (from Books of Vvardenfell, if I remember correctly... ) and I can buy it from him, but neither Jobasha nor Jasmine acknowledge that I have done so. Is all working as intended, and if not, how can I mend it?

I think what's happening is that the JAC_JasLeave script isn't running properly. You can try StartScript JAC_JasLeave in the console and see if that works. If it doesn't, type JAC_Jasmine -> PositionCell, 225.218, 695.810, -251.110, 0, "Balmora, Eight Plates". Otherwise, just talk to Caius and to Jasmine after you're done with him. If she doesn't give the option to follow, open up the console, click on her and type AiFollow Player 0 0 0, then talk to her again outside. I think I may know what the problem is and if you wouldn't mind, I'd like to send you an update to test. I'll pm you with a link.
