=======================================
1. SUMMARY
=======================================
This mods adds a female Redguard named Jasmine who will join you in your adventures provided you do her a favor first. I wrote most of her dialogue to revolve around the Main Quest (MQ), so those not doing it will miss out on quite a bit of the mod. She does have her own backstory and a quest that you'll be able to partcipate in should you keep her around.

=======================================
2. FEATURES
=======================================
This mod uses Grumpy's companion template and scripting system that includes companion leveling, levitation ability, warping and water breathing. Jasmine can be played by any level character at any stage of the Main Quest, but it is perferable to find her before you start the MQ. Note that this mod uses Grumpy's default NPC leveling script and she will level when you sleep.

Note:

In version 1.12, I introduced a telepathy ring similiar to what Kateri's Julan mod uses. I've also included an alternative leveling system created for me by Melian. If you tell Jasmine to concentrate on her scout skills, she will only level up the following skills:

Majors: Light Armor, Marksman, Restoration, Block, Long Blade.

Minors: Sneak, Unarmored, Medium Armor, Short Blade, Athletics.

If you change how she levels, you will need to rest for at least an hour for her skills to reset, but you can switch as often as you like.

=======================================
3. REQUIREMENTS
=======================================
This mod requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon as well as Better Bodies version 2.0+, otherwise some of the clothing worn by the NPCs will look strange.

=======================================
4. INSTALLATION
=======================================
Copy the files in the Data Files folder into their respective folders:
JAC_Jasmine.esp goes into the main Data Files folder (\Data Files\).
The subfolders in the Icons folder go into the Data Files\Icons subfolder.
The subfolders in the meshes folder go into the Data Files\meshes subfolder.
The subfodlers and files in the texture subfolder go into the Data Files\Textures subfolder.
Select the JAC_Jasmine.esp file in the Morrowind launcher to play.

You can read more information on how to install mods here: http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=106063&view=findpost&p=1772866

=======================================
5. Using the mod
=======================================
To start the quest, speak to anybody in Seyda Neen about the latest rumors.

=======================================
6. KNOWN ISSUES
=======================================
This mod was not designed for players that choose to become werewolves or vampires. A vampire should have no issues playing with it, but those that choose to be a lycanthrope should not allow her to see you change. If she does, she will attack and report you as a werewolf. It is not recommended that you use any mods that change the Main Quest like Never say Never. The primary focus of this mod was its dialogue and while those mods won't break this, you'll miss out on a good portion of of the new dialogue.

This mod may not work properly with MCA's love making or with the Romance mod due to how they operate. It will, however, work perfectly with Mr. Cellophane's Lovers and Legends and my updates to that mod.

NOM users: this mod uses a number of resources from NOM and that mod should load after this one (have a later date). You can either use Wrye Mash to redate NOM or load it into the CS and save it without changning anything. I will keep the date of this mod the same throughout its updates.

This mod adds a house to the area northwest of Seyda Neen and may conflict with mods that add content there like Vality's grass mod. I don't have a computer capable of running his mod so I haven't been able to check. This mod also makes a change to Addamasartus and the Eight Plates in Balmora by adding NPCs to them.

Caius will not talk to you if Jasmine is in follow mod. If you leave her somewhere while teleporting, you will need to use her telepathy ring to have her stop following. She has unique greetings depending upon what quest Caius has you performing when you retrieve her from the Eight Plates in Balmora.

There is a 72-hour bug, in which NPCs are reset if you do not talk to them at least once in any 72 game hour period. If you don't talk to Jasmine at least once every 72 game hours, or if she is not in the same cell as you for more than 72 hours, her teleportation ring may cease to function.

=======================================
7. USE IN OTHER MODS
=======================================
Most of the resources in this mod are modder resources and do not require permission to use provided you credit the original authors and include their readmes. The stories in this mod are written by various authors and you should contact them if you wish to reuse them. "The Sage of Torrin" and all of the poems are written by me and I ask that you contact me should you wish to reuse them in your mod. I do not mind giving consent, but I would like to know where my work is being used.

=======================================

Yeah, I wound up scrapping Laura's version and writing my own stripped down one. There's a small delay if she's more than say a foot in front of you, but it works perfectly each time now. :)

I just downloaded the complete new 2.0a mod from the Fliggerty link.
Shouldn't there be an .esp file in there somewhere?

Yeah...that would help, right? :embarrass: I reuploaded both versions (the full and update) to PES. I found I also forgot the new animation files. One of these days I'll get it right.

Thank Monica, she pointed out that I was missing a file. If it wasn't for her, I would never have known. :embarrass:

Anyway, let me know how the updating goes. I tried to take out stuff that I was still working on, but it's possible that I missed something.

I've installed 2.0a, but get the following 2 error messages as I start up my game:

Item "jac_sorcrobe" not found on "jac_lorit"

Item "jac_loritboots" not found on "jac_lorit"

Clicking on "yes" continue running exectuable continues the startup, but ..... should a fix be in the works?

Thanks in advance,
Salamandar

Once I'm past the error message as the .esp and mods load ... will this cause any further problems?
In other words, will it cause any other errors or error messages if I meet with Jasmine, or wander around her house or Seyda Neen?
.... or should I wait for the fix before I start a new game?

There should be an error-free version up now. I'm not sure if PES and Flig have updated, but the corrected version is on ElricM now: http://www.elricm.com/nuke/html/modules.php?op=modload&name=Downloads&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=4417

The fix is up at PES; ElricM has the fixed esp in the download. There shouldn't be any issues with running the mod, the error messages came from me removing parts of it that I shouldn't - the NPC jac_lorit had references in a few scripts and in some dialogue that I wrote, so when I removed her, it caused those erors. I put her back in, but she's not available in game right now - she'll be back for the next update.

[edit]: Thanks, Monika. I didn't see you posting there. :)

ElricM download added. Note that this version contains the latest esp file and there should be no errors when loading it.

Also, just an FYI: if you are adding mods while playing this mod or any companion mod, make sure that the file date is later than this mod (or the other companion mod). The reason for this is that companion mods can get confused if you add mods that load before them. To make a mod load later, just change its file date in Wrye Mash. I dated this mod for 8/30/2008 3:50:43 PM, so any date after that is fine. Also, remember that if you're using MCP, do not use Wrye Mash to clean your save after updating; you will reset Jasmine! Any issues, let me know. Thanks.

After taking some time off to work on another project, I've started work on this one again. I believe I have the new quest I cut out for the update pretty much finished, I just need to test it to make sure it's working properly. Also, now that I have the journal issues sorted out, I'll have Jasmine start initating dialogue more often, especially during her quests. I may do town specific items, but I haven't given them much thought. Finally, I'll be adding more dialogue to Deandre and possibly some of the other NPCs - I believe Jasmine doesn't say much when you become the Nerevarine and I need to remedy that.

Thanks for keeping us updated and your continued work on this. I was just getting ready to start a new character with the sole purpose of doing all three MQ again. I want to have Jasmine along for the ride also. I guess I'll wait now for this quest update on Jasmine.

Don't wait on me, Burhenn, I've stopped all work on this for the time being. I've had a death in the family recently and am not doing any modding work for the next few weeks.

Thanks Kat. I've been taking it a day at a time. I want to continue work on this mod but can't summon the motivation to right now. Anyway, I'll begin again after I've had time to work through my grief.

It's been pointed out that there's an issue with Deandre's "Lorit" topic. It seems that when I wrote the player choice command I accidently included an extra quotation mark instead of an appostrophe. I'll be fixing that and removing that topic until Deandre asks for you to visit her. For now, don't ask him about Lorit, otherwise your game may CTD. I'm not releasing a patch because Lorit was removed from the game world in the last update and her topic wasn't fully fleshed out.

I've been thinking about having another person from Jasmine's past making an appearance and asking a small favor of her. I'll be including this in the next update.

As always, if you run into any bugs or have suggestions for improvements, let me know. Thank you. :)

Hello,
I added your Jasmine mod to my game and all seemed to work fine until I took Jasmine home. When I entered her home, she started a conversation, but only got this:

http://img172.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot0a.jpg

Then, when she changed into her other outfit, we left her house and aI started another conversation and got this:

http://img172.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot2o.jpg

Anyone have these issues before. Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks,
Raed

That's a conlfict with another mod, the "give me your gold" is not part of mine. Post your mod list and we'll see if we can fix it.

BTW, img tages don't work here.
