So I'm at the part where I can help Jason Bright. I'd rather help the nightkin? Jason Bright kind of annoys me. Is there any way to do this or will i be missing content?

no, you cant help the nightkin. I just tried eralier today on my third playthrough because i hate doing the mission. If you really don't want to, kill Jason and his Followers.

Well, he can't "help" the nightkin kill them, that he has to do himself but there is a diplomatic solution to the quest.

Well there is way to screw Jason if you want to. Just continue quest. As for nightkin, you can help them but that doesn't involve Jason as nightkin are not interested in him and his ghouls.

Also, to add further to the other responses, if you want to do the part of the quest to rid of all the Nightkin and the ghoul in the same area(forget the ghoul's name at the moment) diplomatically, you have to do the ghoul's part of the quest first. And since speaking to the leader won't make the Nightkin friendly, and since self defense equates to the leader of the Nightkin(also forget his name, actually) becoming hostile to you, you have to sneak around and use stealthboys. Once you do the ghoul's part of the quest, he'll leave, after which you can do the Nightkin's part. You can't do it prior, because the ghoul becomes hostile if you prematurely try to get on the second floor of the room he's in(I don't remember exactly why he does this).

what svcks is i have Ed-E with me and he keeps shooting everythign on sight even though i have him on passive lol. I'm trying to find the leader but can't find him without Ed-E killing someone first. What's even more messed up is the dude that gives you the quest to find his girlfriend if i go up the wrong flight of stairs Ed-E kills him too because apparently he is still red.

I can leave Ed-E outside but it's really hard to defeat the nightkin without him. I guess i could just sneak through the whole thing using stealthboys?

the other nightskins will always be hostile to you until you talk to davidson. davidson will be hostile to you if you kill his kin or if you don't kill them all before talking to him. last time i was there, i managed to get to him without him being hostile. i killed every nightskin besides him and the jailer. after killing the jailer, he become hostile to me when i saw him again.

In my experience, even after I speak with Davidson and agree to help, the Nightkin are hostile. I know they won't be once you finish your part in actually helping them out, but before then they're a big pain-if you mind killing the friendly ghoul.



I can empathize, there. Though I enjoyed it overall, it was ridiculously frustrating that both sides are stupidly difficult about things-I don't even know why the ghoul becomes hostile if you go up the stairs. I tried about three times due to some confusion, and the last time didn't bother restarting to save the Nightkin(I spoke to Davidson thinking it'd prevent hostility from the others, when I found out it didn't I'd have to defend myself whenever they attacked-and once I got back Davidson was hostile. So he ended up dead.).

But yeah, for the first bit you simply have to have Ed-E wait a good deal away while sneaking about with your Stealthboys. There is a place somewhere in the area(inside a desk, I think?) with the key to the jail, so that you don't have to pickpocket any of the Nightkin-and don't have to kill them either.

The quest can be done with total diplomacy, but because of some of the problems in dealing with both sides, it can be a real pain.

Because you did not deliver your part of agreement. He will let you in (which means on to stairs) only once you find his girlfriend.

This quest is very easy:
First speak to Davison, leader of nightkin. You will probably need to kill one nightkin on the way.
Then go speak to ghoul and agree to find his girlfriend.
Go to jail fighting nightkins on the way including jailer. Just left at last one nightkin alive, else Davison will turn hostile. You can do it easily by heading strait to jail following rightmost corridor. You will encounter just one nightkin and jailer by doing so.
Return to ghoul and tell him about his girlfriend. He will leave and you now can explore second floor in the room.
Tell Davison what did you found on the computer.

Nightkin leave ...quest done.

Bright acts so pious and righteous but he uses people for a means to his own end. But since he does it with nice words for some reason we get good karma for helping him.

Next time through I'm pulling a ghoul genocide in REPCON and not even bothering w/ a bunch of silly rockets.

If he shows up in a later fallout game, I swear.

I swear it seems like the more I play fallout, the less I like ghouls. Except raul, he's cool.

Erm, is there actually a Stealth Boy shipment? I know there's around 2-4 stealth boys there for sure, but the computer terminal says "it will be shipped back". I'm just wondering if the nukes dropped before then.

EDIT: You can just go straight to Vegas... I don't even ask Manny anymore, I know where the strip is. And roleplay-wise, The Strip is pretty dang popular, so I'm betting even if the courier had never been, he or she would probably know the way, being a courier. and, making a delivery to there.

Nope. They were too efficient, there's no stealthboy shipment to be found. Pity. You might luck out and find a few anyway - I found a grand total of four in a safe and random ammo boxes, plus another two or three on the dead Nightkin I found on my last playthrough, but that was very unusual, especially since the dead Nightkin were the ones you find dead - I decided to see if I could sneak instead of kill my way through the mission that time. The funny part was I had ED-E with me and he behaved himself; as long as nobody attacked me, he left them alone.

Children children children! if you want to EFF up the ghouls while still completeing the mission this is what you have to do.

1. follow what jason wants you to do (go and kill all the nightkin downstairs)
2. tell them its clear (then they all go down into the basemant)
3. go and talk to umm.. chalres or whatever his name is (the bald dude) that thinks hes a ghoul
4. you'll have to pass a speech check of like 50 but convince the bald guy he isn't a ghoul and that the ghouls dup'd him
5. the bald dude will tell you to go get sugar bombs plus some extra stuff to get the rockets going
6. once bald dude adds all that stuff launch the rockets and see them go BOOM
7. laugh because it's pretty damn funny

there's an easy way to do it, go down in the basemant, put a stealth boy on, and stay to the left and go down the stairs and right before you go to the room with the ghoul up above with a weapon, hang right and open that door and you'll immmediately see "davison" the nightkin leader, talk to him and tell him you'll help him look for the stealth boys, right after that go into the room with the ghoul with the machine gun and go up the stairs and head straight to the pc terminal and get the info, run right back to davison and tell him the stealth boys are gone, that makes all the nightkin friendly to you immediately you can do all this pretty fast and avoid having to even fight any nightkin.
