May have a new glitch here on the Boone’s wife quest. I did what I was supposed to do: talked to everyone, got the Bill of Goods in the safe. The Quest menu does acknowledge that I found the Bill, because it says my next step is to convince someone (obviously Jeannie May Crawford) to go outside.

BUT – for some damn reason, it does not give me any new speech option asking her to go outside! I tried asking her in the hotel, outside, and in her bedroom – and it simply isn’t an option. I can’t go back in time and redo b/c I’m 4 hours past the point when I found the Bill (I originally assumed that I had to track down some Legion dude for Boone to snipe, not Jeannie, since she didn’t, or anyone else in town for that matter, say anything new!)

Help!

Gotta do it at night, when she's at home. That's when Boone's on shift as the sniper.

Her demise is one of my favorite moments so far.

Go to boone after you find the bill and he'll ask you to bring the person to the front of the dino and he'll put a bullet in their brains just go at night when she is sleeping and a extra speech thing comes up asking if she can meet you in front of the dino cause there is something you want to show her. then when you get out their put the barrette that boone gives you on and BLAM bullet in her head.

Ok, I'll try again. I've talked to Boone several times since getting the Bill, and he keep telling me to piss off. And I did talk to Jean at 3am in her bedroom - and bupkis. She did, however, ask if I "Fancied a shag." I took her up on it.

Speak to her when she is not in the office.

Man I was having the same trouble, it's not at all intuitive that you need to visit her at night in order to continue the quest chain. Thanks for the help guys. Cheers!

If you read/listen to Boone's text it is intuitive, as he is the night sniper and wants you to bring the person in front of Dinky for him to shoot, so he would have to be working at the time.
Although the exact time he starts work may be less so (9pm?)

ok, I guess when I visited Jean at 3am in her bedroomm, it was his night off.

With all due respect, Boone tells us that he works the night shift, so that should tell you everything you need to know about when the event takes place.




Did you not have the conversation option or did you get her out there and nothing happened?

If its the latter, I had trouble with this at first... I got her into position, stood so that we were facing each other from several feet away, put my beret on... and nothing happened. It wasn't until I looked at up at the Dino's mouth to see if Boone was indeed there, that he actually fired. Could have been I wasn't patient enough, but its just a suggestion.


Also, try not putting the beret on until you're both standing on the spot. Meaning, don't walk out there with it on. Hope that helps.

No - no matter what I do or where I do it or when I do it, I am not even getting the speech option to ask Jeane to go outside, not even in the middle of the night -- in her home. Nothin'. I guess I'll have to skip this one.

Unless you haven't actually read the letter/receipt, the only other thing short of it being FUBAR is that you have to talk to someone or hack a pc for more info before you get the option. Best of luck though.

You know, if all you want is to get Boone, there are other NPC's you can lead out there... Not sure how that story path plays out though or whether it permanently eliminates a merchant from the game.

The first time I did the quest, I accidentally choose the "come outside" speech option when talking to Ranger Andy. I had to wait until he walked out in front of the dino, turned around and came back to his room before the "come outside" option would become available for another NPC.

I had this issue last night. Seeing as it's my second play through I rushed to the bill of sale as soon as I got the quest. The problem is, you have to talk to No-Bark first to get the update to search the lobby.

edit: come to think of it I was trying to get her to follow me during the day. so this glitch may very well not exist in this form.

Ha! I'm so doing that next playthrough....righ before I take her to her rendezvous with destiny.
