Is Jeremy Soule a genius or what?

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 4:51 pm

Jeremy Soule absolutely failed on this one, Morrowind and Oblivion were good, Morrowind = Awesome and nostalgic, Oblivion = Meh but enjoyable.

Skyrim has the most [censored] annoyingest music in the [censored] world, and the way the programmers have put the music sequence, like when I kill a giant, the travel music is playing, then 3 minutes later when I'm not fighting the fighting music starts, and to top that, fighting music is [censored] gay.

Adrian Von Ziegler is better by thousandfold. Behold all our gold. Thousandfold.

I totally love Jeremey Soule's work, especially in Morrowind where it seems most original and other-worldly, but I have to say I'm growing somewhat disappointed with the Skyrim soundtrack. At times it will pull me out of Skyrim and take me back to Morrowind, or Oblivion, or Middle Earth (Howard Shore's LOTR soundtrack,) or even remind me of the Assassin's Creed soundtrack. It truly soars where it's original.

I love Jeremy soule, i would have thrown a wobbly had he not been chosen to do the music for Skyrim, he should get a lifetime contract to do every ES game that ever comes out. (having said that, Oblivion's soundtrack just pipped past the post first for me, Skyrim is wonderful, but oblivion was magnifcent.)

Eugh, no, Morrowind's soundtrack was FAR better, which is why I like Skyrim's so much, a lot of it is a return to the Morrowind soundtrack (The nordic version of Nerevar Rising, etc etc)

this was the hardest poll question i've ever answered.

skyrim was his best soundtrack so far, followed by morrowind.

Lol before I clicked the thread I thought "what a silly question, no isn't an option".

Anyway I love all of his work, I first heard it in Neverwinter Nights, then Icewind Dale, Morrowind, Oblivion and KotOR, now Skyrim. It is all amazing.

I think Skyrim is my favorite of his ES wise, though it still can't compare to Icewind Dale, with each song specifically tailored to fit every boss, battle, zone, city, dungeon, etc.

I've actually been one of the dissenters among all the Soule fans on these boards up until now. However, Soule did a much better job with Skyrim than I had expected he would. The music is quite nice, and the revival of some Morrowind pieces always gets a smile from me.

Personally I prefer http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaM7-ER42i0 one (lute), as it reminds me greatly of http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jM8EaL1Zm6w one (DF shop/inn theme) :)

Which reminds me - any musicians around here to redo some of the Daggerfall tracks as solo instrument arrangements for the bards? Maybe instrument stomps, feet stomps, and vocal sounds as only accompaniment?
