Is Jeremy Soule a genius or what?

I can't decide from the above options...

Definitely liking what I am hearing, compared to his work in the previous Elder Scrolls games. More tracks certainly helped, though I am still somewhat disappointed they did not make at least one special track for the final main quest fight.

The score is excellent. I was actually not a big fan of Soule's works in Morrowind and Oblivion (blasphemy, I know). He really pulled all the stops with this one.

I would criticize the poll options if they didn't make me lol.

I have never really been a fan of Jeremy Soule, I will admit that his work on Skyrim was better than most of his other work ( was it just Soule who did all the music or were there others who did the tavern songs and whatnot? ) but as a whole I am not that fond of his work, for me his music just lacks "soul".

This poll is a joke.
But yea, i consider Jeremy Soule to be the Musical Father of the Modern Elderscrolls Series.
The classic TES theme first heard in Morrowind is really something very special.

I actually teared a little when i first heard of the Skyrim theme. So powerful, so majestic, so immediately recognizable.
Listening to it and wearing socks, makes wearing socks feel like the most epic thing to do.

I have been an immense fan of the morrowind and oblivion soundtracks, but I'm very disappointed with skyrim. Most tracks are recycled from previous games, and the few new ones aren't that memorable. :(

The only music I've heard is the main theme because I always turn the in-game music off. Unless he also wrote the songs the Bards in the game sing.

However, I do think that the Dragonborn Anthem is the best theme used in any TES game so far.

Absolutely love his work. Fantastic scores and Skyrim is no exception. The soundtrack does remind me of Morrowind at times and to be honest, i thought the Morrowind soundtrack was much better than Oblivions. He really excelled with it in this game imho.

He's a hack. A semi-talented hack, but a hack nonetheless.

He's alright. I only liked the Inn/Tavern music anyways.
Everything else in the game is okay. /:
Oblivion and Morrowind were masterpieces. (musically)

I doubted for a long time whether "yup" or "indeed" would sum up my opinion the best, but I had to go with "yes" in the end. It's the only true answer I feel.

I love Jeremy soule, i would have thrown a wobbly had he not been chosen to do the music for Skyrim, he should get a lifetime contract to do every ES game that ever comes out. (having said that, Oblivion's soundtrack just pipped past the post first for me, Skyrim is wonderful, but oblivion was magnifcent.)

He is... although I have to say, I prefer Oblivion's soundtrack a lot more to Skyrim's.

Jeremy Soule is GOD. He's my number one compositor of games soundtracks. He did an excellent job in Skyrim. Love his work on KOTOR's too.

Yes he is, some tracks are plain awesome... It's the most engaging score I've ever heard in a game hands down.

Yeah I gotta agree with this, most of the music I have heard from Jermey Soule seems more like a poor imitation of somebody else's music style and while some of his music has some semblance of a nice tune they all seem to miss the mark completely, almost like he has no idea what theme or emotion he is trying portray. However that being said I do think he has done a much better job on Skyrim.

I love his work! Been loving it since Morrowind! I can tell he used a bit from Morrowind and Oblivion for some Skyrim music. Theres a bit of both in skyrim if you listen closely. But i'm obsesed with the title song, its really well done. Aparently, not sure if I heard this right. That it sung in the draconian lagnguage, and can be translated to english to make sence? Or atleast, thats what I got from the youtube video....

I have the music turned off.

And if I do listen to music while playing it's not the game's music.

Not compared to Knut Avenstroup Haugen who did AoC's music that was simply stunning. The tracks with Helene B?ksle singing still bring a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye.

I agree. Knut is a fantastic composer, he captured the Hyborian setting perfectly in his music. And Helene is a lyrical goddess.
