Jester Day is coming!

Post » Fri May 04, 2012 12:01 pm

Jester's Day is a holiday in Tamriel. The older TES games had a holiday system up and I've been watching Tamriel's Calendar, and all, and I've notice Jester's Day is basicly April 28th. Jester's Day is basicly Tamriel's April Fool Day.

Well.. I thought of an idea that would be interesting. What if Bethesda decided to actually play an Elder Scrolls Themed prank on Jester's Day as a connection to us, you know? Think about it, if they actually do something like this then they have proved that they still remember the old days of TES games and they can use this to connect with their players who've been playing TES for a long time and actually remembered the old fun holidays. Personally, I think having fun 'celebrating' holidays that are on a game you've made would be a good way to prove that you still care about your game and it will also show that you care for people who played this game cause they are normally the one that remembered this and thought that you forgot about due to the fact that you've removed it in the newer games.

I'm kinda having a hard time explaining this but can you see what I am saying here? Anyways.. Tell me your thoughts about this! I would love to hear them.

I'd like the inclusion of holidays like in the old games. Skyrim got it right with the monthly King Olaf festival after you did the Bard's College.

Imagine how cool it would be if you walked into a town on one particular day out of the year and everyone is acting like a moron, and when you ask the townsfolk about it, they tell you that it's Mad Pelagius Day.

There is a day for "Mad Pelagius" or w/e his name was but it is kinda one of those "Burning of the Kings" type of thing since he was a bad leader.

That'd be really neat, perhaps in a DLC or something.

Well.. We will see, I guess. Jester Day is tomorrow though they could do something like this with another TES Holiday.

Saturalia on Evening Star the 25th appears to be sort of like the Secular part of Christmas. It is a part of the New Years holidays, as well. It's called the New Life Festival. Here's the UESP description of it:

"The New Life festival comes a few days early in Wayrest with Saturalia, traditionally held on the 25th of Evening Star. Originally a holiday for a long forgotten god of debauchery, it has become a time of gift giving, parties, and parading. Visitors are encouraged to participate."
