Jiub

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:56 am

I have asked before but I do not believe I asked in the correct room. From what Ive heard, Jiub became Saint Jiub shortly after he died. It was from banning the cliff racers in morrowind. He became a saint after the neveriane defeated Dagoth Ur. Im just trying to get my information correct. I figured it would be better to ask this because of the whole dealings of "lore".

This information is just what I have read in the passed months that I have been a memeber. Please correct me if any of this information is wrong, As well as right.

Thanks, B.

I think you may have installed the mod "Cliff Racer - Extinction" which, I think if I recall rightly, features a Saint Jiub and his crusade against the damnable things. But, lorefully, we don't know what happened to him.

Hope he had a nice life though.

I have never modded anything since I play on the xbox. This is just what I have heard. Thanks anyway.

The rumor in Oblivion goes something like this (note: not a verbatim quote):

"I hear that Saint Jiub, who banished the Cliff Racers from Morrowind, has fell to the Daedric hordes."

So yes, Jiub became a Saint and banished the Cliff Racers from Morrowind. Though it's meant to be more of an Easter Egg than an actual piece of lore.

I find it funny that he wiped out a species of winged monsters, and yet fell in battle against the Deadra. That just seems kinda... dissappointing...

the rumors say that he drove them from Morrowind, not necessarily killed them all, though he most likely had to killed loads of them for their little bird brains to get the picture that this guy is bad news

Jiub either Zero Summed out or achieved CHIM and did his own thing. That's why you don't see him at all in Morrowind after the beginning. Yes, Jiub did get killed by Daedric forces, but is he DEAD? Hah, you'd have to be an idiot to expect Jiub to be dead...

Why doesn't the guard let Jiub off when you reach Morrowind? The guard doesn't even acknowledge his presence. He's obviously on the same boat as you to get off at the same place, so whats up with that?

Now it's time to use logic. Jiub drove away ALL of the cliff racers....AAAAALLLLL of them.... Someone with HALF the knowledge of Morrowind knows its THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of those bastards just on Vvardenfell. Only someone who achieved CHIM has the capacity to do some crap like that.

Why would they attack him you ask...? Well, when you ask that, ask this with it: why is the hero in Oblivion THE hero? the Dagonites Nu-Hatta mentions in his letters orchestrated Jiub's removal from the Heartland. Dagon knew who Jiub was and had him whacked, basically.

Dagon's forces very first priority was the murder of Jiub; Dagon knew Jiub was powerful when he found out about his removal of the Racers, hence the start of the Daedric war in Cyrodiil. Man it amazes me how people don' figure this out! I mean, come ON now! Don't you see where you really are? Don't you know who Jiub really is? Don't you know what this war is?

Just use the search function to find a few hundred of the CHIM threads, and enjoy.

http://www.imperial-library.info/obscure_text/vehk_teaching.shtml give a lot of info on it.

As does http://www.imperial-library.info/mwbooks/lessons.shtml though in a much MUCH vaguer sense (if vaguer is a word).

I imagine he was involved in the Temple as an officer of some kind and probably felt it was his duty to defend Morrowind.

It's natural to have your eyes pecked out by man sized birds of prey, too.
