Jobs involving your skills

Post » Fri Oct 14, 2011 2:19 am

We know there are jobs. We can cut wood and all that tedious stuff early on to make enough money to survive as an adventurer.

However, it also makes sense that if you get really good at smithing and enchanting, that people would come to buy your services in that as well. They can order an ornate golden sword with a marble hilt, and you need to go out and craft it, and then make money for it. After all, if you're a master smith, doesn't it make sense that people would pay you for your work?

Same can be said for magical equipment and your enchanting skill.

Yeah that's what I mean. When you get into the higher levels in smith (like 85+), people will want to buy items you make, or even make special requests involving rare materials that will make a ton of money.

I... uh... am going to? What a useless post. I'm just saying it's an interesting dynamic I hope they considered.

Interesting but don't think it'll be in, I think it'll be more like make armor and sell it, no one is going to come and ask you for a marble hilted sword.

Dude that's just unnecessary hes just saying something that could be a cool dynamic of the game. I reckon that would be pretty cool if it was in the game and it could also tie in to the other perks like rare alchemy potions and hired blade if you have high one handed for example.
Unfortunately I don't think this will happen but I like the idea.

I want to see magic related jobs, and not just enchanting. Maybe someone has a large door they can't open or a sick child seemingly immune to more mundane treatments. The Mages Guild, or in this case, The College of Whispers is about providing magical services but we never get to do those. The quest in the past have all been about Guild bureaucracy or some internal crisis. I would like to see some recognition of my magical skill beyond the ability to burn things to death.

I like the idea. I wonder if you can craft a sword and enchant it with dragon tongue so the runes appear on the blade and glow when you speak the words.
