[Rel/Wip] John's Leveled List Overhaul

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 12:04 am

I followed the link. The creatures sound interesting StarX!

John123's Oblivion Overhaul? :hehe:

Looking forward to the OOO and/or FCOM compatible release of John's Leveled List Overhaul!

Regards,

Hem

That's what it's starting to sound like. If he did anything to get rid of the level scaling I might be tempted to ditch OOO for this one.

Yeah...I have been doing some testing without OOO during mod development...so awful to have bandits running around in suits of Elven armor...

:whistling:

in the next update theres a plugin to remove that behavior in in bandits and marauders and such. i plan to do vampires and creatures and such still too.

@Hem- please dont tempt me! theres so many things i'd do if i went that far! loading screens, animations, ughh so much stuff to tackle!

I was thinking about tyring this out with a new TIE and other unleveled type mods game.

Do you think that would work if I used a bashed patch?

Any advice?

Nexus links on first page seem dead - is the mega upload BSA the same as the TESAlliance version?

thanks

with TIE? with Wrye Bash's bashed Patch i would have to assume yes, but since there set to level as in vanilla it might not be balanced with TIE. TESAlliance link is the most up-to-date version so download the BSA and plugins from there Psymon

OK thanks - not worried about balance - have other mods that handle that.

the new items stats may also be unbalanced in the TIE game. Lemme know how it works though, i'd be interested to know.

Speaking of summons, we could use some more variety in the summoned weapons and armor department. Never actually tried to make a summoned weapon before so I don't even know if it's possible but it sure would be nice.

Well, I can't speak for anybody else, but I adore Dragons.

I really admire Bethesda for doing something different with fantasy (civilized Orcs, presumably extinct Dwarves) but I do miss Dragons.

I'd recommend LAME then, complete bound set, as well as bound order items. I'd love to attack magic, but i dont wanna throw more work on my plate, especially with the OOO patch still to eb finished, the add-on to do and the creatures lists for vanilla and OOO.
@Pseron Wyrd- i do enjoy how beth made civilized Orcs, not often ya see that kinda thing in fantasy games. i do miss dragons though and wish they would put use them more they have in the past

they all need weight painting and rigging and repositioning and such, but will be included in my creatures mod :D
Oh sizes arent final either, they will all be sized properly according to historic evidence of them.
suppose i should stop screwing with creatures and get back to the OOO patch huh? i'll get some work done tonight, light greaves lists are half done than only helmets and shields so not many left!

The stega and brachisaurus - are they baby variants? Because those two were huge. Especially the brachiasaurus.

Two wishes for updates after the basic work is done:
1. An unleveled plugin
2. Perhaps an esm - or at least the ability for province mods to make use of these in their own mods (not sure if that would mean esm though).

Unleveled - means that a version of the leveled lists are set so that any creature or item could be found at level one up. And then also this setting:
Calculate from all levels <= PC's level: If checked, the level list will use any actor at or below the player's level in the list. If not checked, it uses the closest actor or actors to the player's level, but not exceeding it. The lower threshhold is governed by the iLevCreaLevelDifferenceMax setting
see http://cs.elderscrolls.com/constwiki/index.php/Leveled_Creature and maybe the http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=820948&hl

Examples are overhauls like TIE and WAC do this. Also if you look in the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=7902 there are simple esp that unlevel both loot and creatures from the vanilla (though non-SI) Oblivion.esm.

Essentially removes level scaling - it makes it so when you turn a corner there could be a wimpy nuisance or your worst nightmare. For those who prefer massive challenge right out of the (sewer) gate.

Thanks for considering

oh really? that should be simple to do! changing levels is incredibly time consuming and really slows things down... dragging and dropping does not however :) i can try, but no promises it'll be in the next release, maybe a little afterwards?

I don't know if dragging and dropping will work - trying to figure that out myself.

There is a definite lack of tutorials on leveled lists.

I'll send you a PM with other info.

form some reason when i merged with TES4Edit, the lists were recorded as changed but no actual changes occured so i dropped the plugin in the last update.

I'm a bit confused about this mod;
I always thought that OOO needs a real renewal, unfortunately all the pioneers peoples (Sotobratos, madcat, dev_akm, ...) that worked on it are no more on the scene. Most of the armors/armors inclued in OOO NPCs/Bosses are outdated and there exist a much better versions in Armamentarium/artifacts and some others recent weapons mods. If you ask me what is the best remaining thing in OOO I will answer you: some non questlog and especially the bosses; so far OOO is the best overhaul that has introduced tougher bosses.

Right now I'm downloading the 800 MB additionnal file, then I will give a try to your mod.
