[WIPz] John's leveled List Overhaul ft. Vvardenfell Imports

Post » Wed Jul 14, 2010 12:18 pm

Been working on a mod for myself and themythofstrider, but its ending up im gonna release it. and decided to make a log thread. I have been working on this and Rimmen so its taking a lot longer than normally. Heres the read me so far if your interested. Any questions, comments, ideas, etc appreciated. no trolling though please!
Name: John's Leveled List Overhaul ft. Vvardenfell Imports
Category: Weapons and Armor
Requirements: Shivering Isles Patch 1.2.0.201, Oblivion Patch 1.2.0.416
Author(s): Johnn123

Description
===========
Ever felt oblivion leveled lists to be well... to bland? Well this mod is an attempt to fix that! Made in collaboration with Vvardenfell Imports,
this mod adds 55ish new sets of armour as well 100ish new weapons to the leveled lists. Currently compatible only in vanilla leveling, but
do not despair OOO users! Plugins to make this mod compatible with your set-up is on the way. I think this mod + OOO would make a great
morrowind type game.

Location
========
Many of these items will appear randomly on enemies, guards and other NPC's but there are a few static npc's carrying a few pieces of the
new armor.
NPC's altered include:
Vicente Valtierre - Vvardenfell Darkbrotherhood Armour
Gogron gro-Bolmog -Vvardenfell Heavy Darkbrotherhood Armour
Brother Martin - Talon of Akatosh sword
Mannimarco - Necrom Ordinator Armour plus necromancer staff
Lord Drad - Black Baron's Armour

Details
=======
This mod i wouldnt describe as an oblivion overhaul, rather just a leveled list overhaul. It will take Oblivion's default leveled lists and add many new items into them so they
dont feel so bland. Many static NPC's were also changed and have add new armour and/or weapons added to them. All vvardenfell
imports armours and weapons have the same stats theu do in that mod, only price tages have been chnaged to fit a game where a bandit
could be walking around with them, so they arent really expensive anymore but fit a vanilla feel. All items have icons and are in all the
proper pieces so they fit the game properly. No magic varients yet, sorry will be awhile yet, probably will be released after version one is.
Right now i'm planning on making 3 plugins for 2 kinds of set-ups, the set-ups being vanilla and OOO. The plugins will be:
Armour - Vanilla/OOO, Weapons - Vanilla/OOO and Complete - Vanilla/OOO
New weapons include rapiers, broadswords and scimitars in all the standard "materials" as well as a pile of weapons made in
common materials but only for that material. Example you will only find new staves made in dwarven and daedric style. Various
artifacts items have also been added such as Martin's new Talon of Akatosh. Countess Narina Carvain's akavir collection also underwent a huge
overhaul. You'll find many unique akaviri items there you wont find anywhere else.

I've always wanted something like this to base my own private loot list overhaul for - so I'm interested in what you do with this. Will it have FCOM compatibility?

This looks great! I recently toned down my Oblivion install (no more FCOM) and was missing all the new armors and stuff. This will be perfect. Any estimate on when the first release will be ready? No pressure of course :hubbahubba:

This looks excellent, John. Although I'm not using OOO anymore (a different overhaul instead), I would enjoy new armors and weapons. :)

BTW, is it possible to use Jounk's Polearms mod as a resource? I've seen OOO and Frans using it, but I can't find the mod on the Internet by itself.

Great work on integrating TheMythOfStriders armors into the game, John! The texturework on these armors is simply awesome. If you need any additional weapons or armors, feel free to add any of my http://www.invision.tesalliance.org/forums/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_posts&search_filter_app%5Bdownloads%5D=1&view_by_title=1&mid=114. It's just an offer, no problem if they are not suited for your project. :foodndrink:

Nice! I'm glad you can use the katanas. Even though I put a massive amount of work into the blades themselves I just put them in a box near the sewer exit, because I was to lazy to even add them to a merchant.

Bravo.

Thx!

Well at any rate just finished some more work on my vanilla armour leveling system plugin, boots and cuirass's are now finished with gaunlets partly finished. I might just release it bit by bit and make one big final release. I should have vanilla armours up by the end of the weekend.

So i check Sages Skyrim Armoury and it appears Vvardenfell Imports includes alot of those armours already. Foinished off adding gauntlets to vanilla leveling, just have greaves, helmets and shield than im fininished vanilla heavy armours.

Good Job! This is going to be a must download for me. I have some questions though. Will this include all the meshes or be ESP only. Are you balancing all the new weapons and armor? Because that to me would be the most tedious part.

All meshes and textures will be included in BSA, i wouldnt think of making you guys go download over 20 different archives to play a mod! All weapons and armours that i added are balanced as well, most stats simalar to the standard items. I kept all of VI stats in the armour, except for costs which were changed. Otherwise everything was handone by me in the CS.

I imagine that there will eventually be a cut off point for this collection so I thought I'd throw a few suggestions on the pile:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=6396
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=21863
http://www.tesnexus.com/modules/members/index.php?id=860583
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=14911

Actually in my game I merged these mods together:
Spoiler
Aylied Arrows
Spear of Bitter Mercy
Myths and Legends 2.4.8
Nicoroshi's Creations
Addonay Classical
Addonay Elven
LSB Skull Weapons
Sangre Quest Weapons
Hel Bornes Quest Weapons
jojo Armors and Weapons
Mithril & Orcish Weapons
GahFalquanUmaril
Arkays Valor
Excalibur
Angle Slayer
H0bbs - Assassin Blade
Bow of Shadows
Heavens Fury
Paladin Equipment
Paladin Pack
Crusader helm
Deadly Shadows
Shields of Antiquity
Town Ceremonial Armor
Shinobi Set
Ancient Silver Armor
The goal was simply to have the unique dungeon finds or leveled lists friendly versions available. Most though are not leveled list oriented.

Next a question - will there be body mod support? I ask because I saw a few references to mods that I believe are body mod supported in the OP. So was wondering if they will keep that or you will modify armors for vanilla then out to the others. Or leave that to another to do - or one step at a time and will think about it.

Anyway thanks for considering the requests - much appreciation and look forward to this.

I had passing thoughts of doing something like this once. With the idea if combining it with shop guild mod - help build up an import shop near each city and make it so that new armor/weapon mods could us it as a basis for adding on to it or something like that. Settled for my merger and remembered that this is only a hobby that already takes up an inordinate amount of time.

thanks again

thanks again

im gettin quite filled on items already but im gonna add in mithril and orcish weapons, they'll fit in nicely plus leveled lists are already done :)
i already made town ceremonial armour that i labeled Honour Guard Armour. its based off of the crusaders cuirass, butiks modified enough you dont need KOTN. I like alot of that stuff there, ill see if i can find places for some somewhere
for body mods, basically if it comes with support, great, if not then i wont be making any. if anyone wants to make it, ill add em in, otherwise it wont happen because 1: i dont run body mods and 2: i cant use blender, it gives me headaches :P

One thing...maybe after you finish this mod and I add it in...maybe I can start eliminating some of the mods of weapon/armor sets that you are adding. That will be good, because there are a lot of really interesting mods coming out in the near future that I need room for.
