Neutral ones ya can work with? Possibly, joining one like its a faction? Strongly doubt it, raiders like bandits in fantasy games are primarily cannonfodder enemies.

Maybe with specific quests (such as the forsworn of Markarth). I'd love advanced AI that would allow you to potentially befriend anybody in the wasteland, but I think that's more likely in Fallout 5 or 6.

Nobody knows yet, we can only hope, so far it seems like they're just generic human targets...

I would love to run a raider crew! If I can't do that then I'm ok with just being a Raider of Raiders.

Ya dont think I am not to you, I seen Myst357 thread (who just happens to want to pistol whip people I think is what was said in another one of the posts).

The Cats are starting to unite, Making me Nervous, Might be I need to invest in some fuzzy slippers and Cat ears for when the reckoning comes.

(if A few good Gangs subquest's are not in, I really expect this to be one of the first Mods cause there is great potential)

Is the good/evil system still in? If you're character is evil then raiders should recognise it and invite you to join them.

I'm guessing it is still in. I've not played the first two games, but I think it is kinda a core part of the series even though it was kinda empty in fallout 3 and NV. In the Dust survival simulator mod there is a cool take off of the karma system ranging from Sane to Insane rather than Good to Evil, but i'm digressing now...

Anyway, yeah, it would be awesome to be able to join a raider family, especially if you could compete against other raiders or even invade your own settlements and establish them as raider territory

They haven't shown it in any way but I woud guess the karma system is still there. The perception video does suggest that stealing is wrong, that's about the only hint we have so far.

I'll vote yes just because some people would really love it.

I'm hoping that we have more than just a generic raider fraction.

The Vipers and the Fiends were fun in FONV.

That would be good.

Given how many Skyrim quests there were, I'd say there is a fair chance there will a few quests that involve raiders as more than just cannon folder.

Depends whether the game gets generic raiders again or some raider factions which have purpose. I think it would be great to be able to make a raider faction more powerful than the others, maybe even inhabit/protect your settlement (assuming you have one anyway), etc. Although that would require some area of influence mechanics and as such it sounds like a bit too much of work for a secondary game activity.

I think a good way to approach this would be a morally bankrupt raider companion who has an associated gang that you can ally with.

If they don't allow you to build your settlement up as a camp for raiders I'll be sorely disappointed.

Poll's a bit confusing. Are we voting if we think there will be joinable raider crews, or if we want them?

I want them, but don't think we'll get them.

Oh I have wanted this way back in Fallout3. I would love the ability to befriend a raider and have the raider start as a companion and if you do his companion quest you gain a raider crew and based on your karma they become your personal strike team or as guards for your forts and caravans. As the leader you could send them off to do things like raid a town or protect a town from other raiders. I would love to see a way to out fit the raiders in armor and weapons that you can make or find or buy. The raiders would bring look and rare crafting parts or recruit new members to the raiders to help you hold more forts.

No. I'd prefer the ability to found your own faction, likely as part of building your settlement. And you could choose the general alignment (good, neutral, evil) and purpose (mercenary, protection, trading, scavenging, etc.). Then you could choose recruits, train them, equip them, and send them on missions or assign them about your settlement.

Interesting, I could see that being in the game since they had similar mechanics in the Skyrim guilds

What? No they didn't, unless you count the Blades, and for recruiting purposes only. Even then, you could only recruit those who can be followers.

I'm talking about founding your own guild with its own name, being able to recruit randomly named/generated NPCs, and assigning them tasks and duties. It would be much more like Fallout Shelter, only more in-depth and detailed.

Kinda related to the OP - I'm hoping that raiders/human enemy A.I. is more nuanced this time around compared to previous BGS games/Fallout's. Going by the footage we've seen you can definitely tell that they at least take cover and enemies strafe and juke out of the line of fire. In Skyrim bandits wouldn't immediately attack unless provoked or you got too close. I'm hoping in FO4 that BGS have taking the next step implementing more options for the PC to engage human enemies, whether via bribery, dipomatic and other means as a few examples. It's especially frustrating when scantly clad raiders wielding a pipe come barrel-assing towards you with a death wish. Some situations it makes sense, but not all.

As for the OP. - I'm all for being able to join a raider faction. I'm just not too sure it will be in the vanilla game.
