I went into Windhelm and joined the Grey coaks, then I talked to Jorlief and there was no option to buy a house.

Ulfric would only talk to me about the war, and not about becoming thane.

I did a few Missions for him, and he would still not talk to me about becoming a thane. And Jorlief still had no option to buy the house.

I did "blood on the ice" quest, but Jorlief stil wouldnt sell me the house.

You need to do quite a few quests first.

But personally, I can't buy anything for my house. I have the house, but it's totally unfurnished and Jorlief wont sell me anything. Damned Jorlief, the property scam artist...
