Possibly more pending from London and Gamescom hands on previews:

Pete Hines Aug 15: "Last day of Skyrim hands-on in London. Chars being played today: two Khajiit, a Nord, an Argonian, and a Dark Elf (all males)."

The Gamescom and London demos seem to have resulted in no new character screens.

Steve Farrelly's Nord character screenshot reportedly coming Aug 22 in Australia), but still hasn't been posted yet:

@steve_farrelly
"I'll actually be posting it up today :) so stay tuned! He's not very exciting though ;) #skyrim"

EDIT: According to @ausgamer twitter feed:

"he's still overseas post-Gamescom so he's a little incommunicado - I've fired him an email though so I'll find out ASAP!"

" I emailed Steve about it this morning; he's still overseas after Gamescom in Germany (another event in London)"

Also, Altmer pic coming "soon" per Bethblog's twitter:

@Bethblog
"@AstralAnomaly we've been showing the pics that journalists made. Didn't see anyone make an Altmer, but we should be able to show them soon"

My post from last thread:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8613775/Skyrim/SkyrimNord/Farrelly_Nord.jpg
... wow! :D

To be honest, I'm not that impressed by the character itself. The face looks a bit "weak", if that's the right word. Still looks good though.
However, those environments! Very atmospheric!!! :celebration:
I personally think this looks to be the most "dense" forest we've seen so far in Skyrim.

nice pic.

one thing i noticed is he has arrows on his back but no bow is visible.

Yeah, pretty much every Quakecon screenshot we've seen so far has a character wearing a quiver on their back, regardless of what weapon they're holding. Not really a big deal. We could do that in Oblivion as well.

Its the guy from the transporter.

Jason Statham? Looks nothing like him.

I would've preferred it if we could have our bow on our backs also, it'd look much more realistic and bad ass.

It's nice to see a bald character that doesn't look odd though. Ahem. I'm looking at you, Fallout.

why carry a quiver if you don't have a bow? so if he's got a bow where is it? in his pocket?

I agree about that. I was hoping Bethesda could show us some new, cool armor. Then again, the characters are so low level, so the level scaling is bound to have crappy items at start.

It would be cool to see Dwarven armor.

I find it unlikely to believe men would shave their hair in an environment like that. And to say maybe he was just natural bold, I doubt it as it normally doesn't look like that. It look's shaven.

considering the beard i'd agree. the beard is cool though. hope character customization allows us to make long grey beards for mage type characters.

Cranial baldness has no relation to facial hair. Cranial baldness is often caused by excess testosterone, which would also give you a thicker beard. And even if you're not completely bald, many guys with receding hair shave the rest cause it looks better. Many warriors shave their hair to prevent it from falling in their eyes, or giving the enemy something to grab on to - that's why the "military haircut" originated with the Caesarian legions. Prevents a Gaul from jerking your head down and hacking at your neck. At least that's what I heard in third grade, I should probly fact check it. Also, even if it WAS freezing cold, professional soldiers aren't the type to complain of a draft, and their heads are often covered by a helmet anyway.

Love the forest, but the Ausgamers' guy should have spent more time on the facegen....I mean, that char is ugly as hell :lol:

Actually, for all the complaints I have with this game, it sure does look pretty, even the ugly people. I was hoping that since Oblivion was "graphically finished," the could start reintroducing more complex gameplay. Of course, it took 30 minutes to realize that even Morrowind looked better, minus a few animations. Rather have blocky polygons than blobby, formless faces.

I thought the reporters would do something original like a Breton or an Imperial but with different armour, clothing or no clothing.

This guy doesn't look like a professional soldier, you are forgetting that the many Germanic tribes during the period of Caesar had mostly long hair, a lot also with knobs. And considering this is a Nord and not an Imperial, I find it more likely seeing this guy with at least some hair.

(From last thread)
That's not daytime. I wish to see that area under the bright sun. I'd also like to see another pair of gauntlets.

I think it would look something like this in daytime: http://media.pcgamer.com/files/2011/02/Skryim-Trailer-anolysis-4-Forest-Statue-Head.jpg

Probably a little better though, since I'm pretty sure that graphics and such has been improved at least slightly since the gameplay trailer.
