It would be cool. Since halberds are confirmed i don't see why jousting poles wouldn't.

I voted 'maybe'

I wouldn't want to deny the option for those who wanted it (so didn't want to vote 'no') but - assuming the horses are anything like in Oblivion - I didn't vote 'yes' because I absolutely svcked at controlling my horse.

So even if was in the game I doubt I'd partake. But each to his own I guess....

No. This is a hard to implement idea, so it's not going to happen. Go play Mount and blade.

Well, apparently mounts have been revamped, so you may get better this time around. :D

It is a hard to implement idea, and I don't expect it to be in, but That wasn't the question. Please go back and change your vote to say whether you would like to see it or not, not whether it'll be in or not.

Creating a breathtaking believable world in a digital environment is difficult therefore they should not do it. Cancel Skyrim now and we can go play other games. Right?
Difficult to implement doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XILi5K8nSc&feature=related... anyway it sounds like a cool idea but i dont think it would fit the barbaric feel that skyrim seems to have.

I think he meant though that the entire game is difficult to implement, so why add unnecessary, or not totally enjoyable ideas that would make it even harder to implement, probably bumping another, better feature off the to-do list.

it's called a lance... anyway it sounds like a cool idea but i dont think it would fit the barbaric feel that skyrim seems to have.

I loved that movie so much. :P Although I think it would be called a jousting poll. Lances are used for combat, however jousting polls are different in two ways. The first being that they're are designed to break on impact, and the second being that they have no tip.

I don't know stabbing people with pointy sticks from horseback sounds pretty barbaric to me :hubbahubba:

Yeah I know I'm in such a mood lately for some reason lol

Jousting seems a bit too civilized for Nords in a Nord land. I could imagine some sort of tournament since there are lords but jousting seems like it would suit the Imperials more.

Not really interested in Jousts. Not because it wouldn't fit the setting (jousting can be rough and gritty, not just in the "ye old merry england" fashion), I just don't think it would be that fun or add much to the game.

Yes, if Defenders Of The Crown could do it, Skyrim can.

My vote still stands, I wouldn't like it.

Difficult to implement doesn't mean it shouldn't be done.

Looking ugly as a result does.

Well thats was always funny to see how Imperial Legion Guard dismount to continue pursuit of enemy instead of using horse as advantage in combat.
Well I think at last horse trampling can be done in easy way
But jousting like in Mount and Blade also isn't something unbelievable or out of possibilities.
Thats was done for Oblivion

Yes, I am very interested in this I want mounted combat and all if not now at least next installment. It's the natural next step after you added horses.

Jousting would have fit in Oblivion's traditional medieval setting more than it would in Skyrim's Nordic-inspired one, so I voted no. Mounted combat would be nice, provided that mount animations and handling are decent to start.

I voted no. Jousting doesn't fit with Nordic culture, It doesn't even feel like it would fit with Imperial culture. The only people I see enjoying it are the Bretons. So unless we go to Highrock, no.

But mounted combat, sure.

well i thin that fighting on horseback could be cool. i hope though that the fighting on horseback isn't like two worlds where you could hardly control ur movement in combat :whoops:

This would need large, flat(ish), open areas, something that isn't all too common in Skyrim (which I figure is primarily mountains, forests or hills). Thus jousting could only work in rare cases and bethesda is better off working on something else.
