Checked the cave more thoroughly--bingo. Everything was perfectly clear after that. I've just finished up all the business with him and his family/tribe stuff, and let me say it was quite a thrill ride. That last dungeon sequence where
Spoiler you had to lure a hunger to open the magic door, then kill the huge special hunger (can't remember his name) and talk to Han-Sashael...that whole thing was just great.
The big encounter there was enjoyably difficult without causing me to want to rip my hair out.
I never thought Julan's personal quests would be so grand and complex, but I'm glad they were (and maybe will be, since I don't know what comes after this regarding his personal problems) but it was all very well done...and some of the rewards--as well as the satisfaction of killing that boss--were extremely satisfying.
