[RELZ] Julan, Ashlander Companion [No.14]

Post » Mon Sep 27, 2010 11:07 pm

I think I remember the texture you mean, was that the one Westly fiddled with? I'm just off to bed but I'll try and find it tomorrow, promise.

Yep, that was the one... I'll be merging the bazillion clothing mods I "need" for the day or so, at least, so whenever you get 'round to it will be super. And thanks, again!

And I knew what would be under your spoiler before I clicked it. That little scamp of a mage! So mischievous. *Ahem*. :whistling:

Spoiler

I'm going to blame it on the Wardens... if they would have just let him keep the fricking cat, NONE of it would have happened, sez me.

Really, I knew Blondy was up to something, but BOOM!Anders? :ooo: Never saw that coming... :sob: and the worst of it was I just could not bring myself to either kill him or cut him loose, b/c I completely understood his "why", even though it made me sick. Hence, feeling really really dirty.

Ugh. Now I'm thinking about it again. I need a drink. Mages! BAH!

Absolutely agree with DreamKing's insight on the in-game hints. Do eet!~

Since you have agreed to train him, so why not allow Julan to help you out for a change.

Face files: I think this was the most recent... look right? https://www.yousendit.com/download/UFh0anZuQVNtUUUwTVE9PQ

I have another version that was the first one Westly made, where he'd also altered the eyes. While the eyes were nicely done (obvs, it's Westly!), I preferred the old ones, as I was used to them, and the new ones just didn't look like "him"so in the file I just uploaded, I combined the rest of Westly's alterations with his original eyes. However, if you think the one you liked was Westly's eyes, I can upload it on demand.

Thank you SO much, Kateri! I had been using my own tweak of Westly's eyes, but this is... perfect!

Pretty please let KINGPIX include Julan in the Morrowind Overhaul Project - Game Experience! The first pack he and his team released looks amazing, a lot better than I've ever managed to put together in terms of mods in Morrowind, and I expect the second pack to be at least of the same quality as the first pack.

Julan is my favorite Morrowind Companion and I want him in every install, and even if he isn't included in the Overhaul pack I will still install the mod, but being included in the pack has advantages, because bugs can be found and fixed since many people would play it, also compatibility would be made better between him and other mods in the pack, and this I can't do on my own, only his presence in the pack would do that. So, again, pretty please, give the permission for him to be added in the pack.

I'm glad this thread has reappeared as I recently sent Kateri an email and never received a reply. Kateri, if you happen to see this then I'd love to hear from you, but otherwise, if anyone has more information than I do about any of the following (since there have apparently been 14 threads relating to this mod!), then please reply :)

I've started using this mod relatively recently; it's the first companion mod I've ever used, but I remember hearing good things about it and so I figured I'd give it a try. Did it used to be on PES? I think I remember seeing it there first. If so, does anyone know why it got taken down? I've found a distinct lack of information on this mod. The FAQ mentioned above was a little helpful, but I still found myself rather stuck at several points.

Anyway, I was mainly wondering about the possibility of a patch or add-on (whether made by Kateri or someone else) - is this something Kateri has commented on before?

Specifically I thought of the following:
  • A "reminder" to seek out Julan before Caius gives you the Vivec Informants quest - this could be done in the form of a strong hint on Caius' part ("You might like to take this opportunity to improve your skills a bit, perhaps explore a little, visit some places, say, Ghostgate?"), or could even be enforced
  • Mark Kaushibael Camp on the map
  • A means of resurrecting Julan (perhaps like the system of resurrecting mercenaries in Diablo II)
  • Fix the fact that if you talk to Julan in Caius' house, even when Caius' isn't there anymore, he'll think you're kicking him out

From what I've seen so far this is a great mod, but even great mods can be improved ;)

This shouldn't happen. After Caius has been recalled, the greeting you get from Julan in Caius' house should change to (loads up game, tries to remember controls, tries to remember where she left Julan, finds Julan, takes Julan to Balmora.... ah, here it is...):

So we can use Cosades' house now?
His dirty, drug-filled hovel? How nice.

or at least it does in my game. :unsure2:

Hi! I don't remember getting an email from you, but it's possible I just missed it, very sorry! I'll take your suggestions into consideration for the update. I don't really want to make a "resurrect" function, though, as I think it spoils the fun. (I know not everyone shares my opinion on this, but hey, I never said this was a democracy! :P ) And as stated, the kick-out scene should only occur once, after that you get alternate dialogues. It's always worked up until now, so not sure why it hasn't for you!

Thank you for the feedback, feedback is always welcome! :)

Would you mind it if someone else made it? I'm not necessarily volunteering, but I'm just wondering if it's a possibility, in theory. I'd certainly download it.

Hmm, ok... I think it may be because I had a bit of a dodgy start; I'd already done the Vivec Informants quest so I manually stepped backwards through my journal to get Julan

Thank you for the feedback, feedback is always welcome! :)

No problem, thank you for the mod ;)
