Jurgen Windcaller and Sovngarde

Post » Thu May 16, 2013 6:06 pm

If you're referring to the Songs of the Return - I get the impression he likely died of his wounds. In Volume 56, where his death is mentioned, the campaign against the elves is still on-going.

Yep, here's the relevent passage:

The boy (Asgeir, as his name is now sung) had ran unimaginable distance at breakneck speed from the blood-stained fields of the Clouded Sun, to deliver the news to all who would hear. When he reached their camp, he bellowed a great sob before relieving his heart with the news that the mighty Ysgramor had breathed his last.

Possible, but there's just not enough to say one way or the other.

He isn't in sovngarde so...yea no he still doesn't prove anything and again, the "belief is real" thing only effects mundus because of the earthbones, Sovngarde is in aetherius so it doesn't matter, the nords can be wrong.

Some think it is in mundus in reality. And saying "hurr durr he isn't shown in sovngarde" is still invalid since lots of nord npcs who die are not. Say it as many times as you want. You aren't proving anything beyond how stubborn you are.

That logic falls flat when you realize Sovngarde is condensed from what it usually is. Do you really think that the Sovngarde we see contains every Nord who qualified ever in the history of Mundus?

I don't think he died in battle. He devoted his life to his Way of the Voice, peace and balance after the defeat of the Tongues at the battle of Red Mountain.

But you aren't proving anything either and people are wrong, Sovngarde is known to be in Aetherius.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Aetherius

He may not have died fighting to see who becomes the new leader of the greybeards but he could've died fighting invaders trying to take snow-throat. I'm going with the book that has the only explanation of how to get into sovngarde that isn't a dimensional portal.

The lore masters are the ones that I got that theory from, but that is another matter. It has to do with Shor and the fact that he is trapped in mundus and cant get to aetherius.

And I think that quote proves death in battle isnt the only way.

Besides the portal created by Alduin we have no other idea on how to get into sovngarde but a book, and yes sovngarde is in aetherius this is established canon.

Theories =/= facts and they can also be shot down with known sources that are canon also can you show me this theory.

AGAIN, I NEVER SAID THATS WHAT I BELIEVE.

I'm just presenting possibilities. Lore changes you know. What we know to be true now may not be later, which is why I brought it up as a possibility.

The argument has gone full circle and moved on to other matters off topic, so I'll give others a chance to speak.

Yet people are wrong and Aetherius doesn't follow the same rules as Mundus.

Everybody knows that Sovngarde is somewhere underground within Secunda. All of that ash-sugar pouring out of the volcanic vents is just refuse from Shor's wild parties. He invites Snow Whales, doncha know. I got invited, once.

Jurgen could've lost a "battle" with disease. Maybe that counts. :v

Point is its not baseless when I have something that supports my theory. That and Jurgen Windcaller. These two are examples that could show that death in battle isn't the only way. But you won't admit it's even possible because Cider is never wrong and knows everything.

Oh no I'be been wrong and I've admitted when I'm wrong. Now you're just personally attacking me, I'm going by lore as my theories are and it's pretty much canon that you have to die in battle to get to sovngarde and there isn't anything to contradict this besides Tsun giving the LDB a special offer, one that could just be applying to the LDB since they saved Mundus from the world-eater a feat that no-one has ever done.

Its not a fact as jurgen is in sovngarde, and Rogvir shows that the nord belief isn't just death in battle. If it was proven as canon, the polls wouldn't look the way they do. It isnt proven.

polls =/= canon

Roggvir isn't in sovngarde and Jurgen could've died in combat protecting the greybeards or his philosophy, we don't know how he died.

I didn't say it did, I was showing it isn't proven. Missed the point again.

And I think you mean Sovngarde. Anyway, so? As I've said 10 times already there are MANY people who aren't in Sovngarde who should be, and it is scaled down.

And the Greybeards would have told of his death if he was killed. It is never mentioned. If it was lost in time, they'd have said that. Put your response, I'll just watch and see what others say for now.

Yea I keep typing skyrim instead of sovngarde, I fixed that already

Yes but the point is bringing him up proves nothing because he isn't in Sovngarde, just because he believes he is going to sovngarde doesn't mean it's true since sovngarde is in AERTHERIUS which isn't effected by the earthbones since the earthbones are made up of Et'ada aka GODS. They don't mention how he died at all, they didn't say he died of old age or disease so again we don't know how he died.
