Just Completed Heavy Rain and Killzone 3 today!

Post » Sat Oct 03, 2009 7:42 pm

Wow where do I start? Heavy Rain was one of the most emotional intense experiences ive ever had!

Ive never felt so attached to game characters before in all my life, its a true recommended experience for everyone and I thought I would hate the quicktime events! but is actually extremely well done and this is coming from a hardcoe gamer.

The acting is superb and actually inspires me to go into voice acting....been told I have a knack for it! afterall I can impersonate the two main helghast villans perfectly from Killzone 3!

And that leads me onto the other game I completed today! killzone 3! what an epic adventure of blood and gore! The MWLAR fight was off the scale.....literally but the only thing missing is of course a helghast campagin!

I agree killzone 3 was amazing and epic and heavy rain was sick also. I do believe ( but hope not ) there will be flame posts over this. Killzone 3's multi is also awesome you should check it out , but dont let it get in the way of your crysis 2 time , this game is going to be beyond epic.

I dont like the online on Killzone 3, its so laggy.......typical BS of I shoot a guy with 4 bursts and he kills me instantly.

Also a majority of the maps are major bottleneck camp fests of you have our side and we have ours, and there is no way to creatively flank like there is in crysis 2, you just have to get a bunch of bodies together and rush through a door, fingers crossed you dont get insta killed.

l played heavy rain move edition and I'm glad i did, as you said, i never felt so attached to a game or characters before and the storyline was awesome.

The only two bad things i'll say about it is at one point i knew exactly what i wanted to do and feel like the game didn't give me the chance to do it (no spoilers but the only way you'd see the option i'm talking about is if you've played it before and know it's coming).
The other bad thing is towards the end I felt like playing other stuff. Admittedly i had 3-4 new games at the time i wanted to try out but really great games make me forget about all the others, I didn't quite have that with Heavy Rain.

For me heavy rain isnt a videogame @ all.
Its more an interactive movie and the interaction are a pure series of quicktimeevents.
Its like the old Sega CD games or Dragons lair .. only with improved grfx and a better story.

Killzone 3:

Cevat Yerli once said Console shooters are more than one generation behind Pc shooters..
and nothing proves this more than Killzone 3. Generic, stupid and build to dazzle gamers with its epic staging.
In fact it almost reminds me of Quake 4.

With heavy Rain my problem with it was that there was no skip back function so if you made a wrong or bad move your character was dead, especially one who you got attached to like Ethan which was annoying as hell.

Its not necessaily a gaming experience but an experience none the less.

Ive now got Bulletstorm to complete and Homefront coming out this friday and Homefront looks really gripping as a game *SPOILERS*

THeres a scene at the start for example were a little kid gets his parents shot right imfront of him and he is crying.

This like that really send a powerful message in game and also how there is mass graves of innocent civlians, even though im not american I still feel something because America are like our brothers.

Heavy Rain... It is by far the most immersive game I've ever played. Absolutely brilliant.

Killzone 3... Another awesome installment of one of my top favorite franchises, can't wait for the next game. I'm still having a great time with both KZ2 and KZ3, thanks to an awesome SP campaign and especially it's offline skirmishes against bots. My most played game :D

Cant Stand the online on Killzone, theres no room for tactical play as people just camp the bottlenecks.
