So I just defeated Umaril on default difficulty

My holy Paladin, Dyan phor a'Cauz, has taken down that unholy demon UMARIL has been destroyed! :flamethrower:

Long ago, Renee Gade II had previously tried this feat but failed. She had three homes, full of cupboards packed with invisibility and health potions, but was too lazy to collect them all up. :(

So with Dyan, I made sure to go into overkill mode. :ninja: She gathered up every potion she's stashed away in her 4 homes: the Bruma House, the Waterfront Shack, Greyland, and Lord Drad's Slave House. She had about 7 invisibilty potions, 20 Restore Health potions, and a few other assorted brews like Fortify Luck. I hotkeyed all the best spells, too: Starting from the left going clockwise it went:

Dispel 30 pts. on other

Calming Touch Level 7

Fortify Strength 5 pts. for 90 secs

Mara's Gift (200 pt health spell)

Restore Health 35 pts. (20 sips)

Fortify Fatigue 30 pts for 60 secs on Self

Defend 15% for 30 secs on Self

She also had a couple rings going as well: a Shield 12% ring, and the Ring of Sunfire (magic reflect 11%). Coupling this with the Amulet of Reflection she recently found, and her total Reflect Spellage adds up to 30%. This DEFINATELY hurt Umaril.

Dyan wanted to bring BOTH the Crusader's Sword and her expensive Akaviri Warblade into battle, but alas, Guilbert Jemane apparently stole it (see NPC Foller Love thread) :grumpy: So she wound up bringing just the Warblade. She wore the entire Crusader's armor suit, though.

Fighting the Aurelians, Dyan realized unfortunately that her Warblade had just 11 charges left. Damn! :banghead: She wanted to save this [censored] for the big guy. So she grabbed one of the Aurelian's axes to fight off any remaining Aurelians

Facing Umaril, her strategy was to drink the best potions, have the Defend, Fortify Strength, and Fortify Fatigue going as much as possible. As Umaril came down the stairs, she drank an invisibility (yea, I know...kinda cheaty) and would get behind him. As a paladin, she never sneaks and had previously never used invisibility, but i figure the Weight of the World must be destroyed, and if she had to resort to a bit of trickery to get this done, so be it.

Well, she drank only 3 invisibility potions throughout. She'd get behind the big guy, get a few wacks on his gold-plated skin, and run off to heal herself if she needed to. I think she took 12 healing potions throughout.

Finally, Umaril fell. She followed him up into the sky (oooh, look at the IC below!) and defeated his soul!! And now I can go take a shower. :celebration:
