Just discovered Brink

Post » Sat Nov 06, 2010 3:00 pm

What's up guys, i just recently came across this game, was browsing the forum for info and decided to register. Never been a part of a game forum, but then again i haven't been this excited for a game to drop since i was like 12. Plus, most games' communities are full of arrogant d-bags. But Brink seems to be attracting a pretty chill core group of gamers so im looking forward to that.

I just wanted to post and hopefully make some friends to play with on ps3 since not many of my friends will be getting it, but for the sake of not posting something pointless and wasting your time( ) ill ask a question:

Do you think the extreme teamwork part of the game is actually going to be taken advantage of in pubs? or will it turn into an acrobatic version of cod?

Welcome to the forum. As for your question:

Yes and no. I say yes because there's a whole lot of incentive to play as a team, and very little reward to playing lone wolf a la CoD. However, I don't doubt that there will be the occasional lobby where everyone is in the mindset of "OMG K/D LAWLZ" or "LOL I IZ NINJA D00D." I do expect that sort of lobby in the minority though, or I at least hope so.

thanks for the welcome sir.

and i think you're probably right. Brink is definitely going to be a game where finding a group of people to play with is a must. Its been too long since ive felt the rush of actually having to plan, strategize, and work together in a shooter. Even in games like socom the only teamwork really happening is people making callouts, nothing too in depth.

Welcome to the forums my good sir!

To answer your question I do believe team work will be used a lot more than CoD, because in Brink even though you get XP for kills it's not a lot. You get much more doing the objectives on the map. So it may be kinda bribing people to do them but at least they are completing the objectives.

ya they definitely arent being shy about the bribery. I might be wrong about this but it also kind of seems like even if someone ISNT completing objectives and doing the right things, youll never know since everyone just chooses their own.

Well there are some objectives like, defend this spot where when you kill people near the objective you get more XP so even though you are killing people you are still helping your team by keeping an objective safe.

Isn't he a heavy security? If so then we may just be on the same side.

He's playing both sides I think and he's going to most likely be a Heavy Medic
