Just downloaded Martigan's Monster Mod

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 10:03 pm

Hello, whilst downloading this Mod I had several warnings that certain parts of the Mod conflicted with already existing files for those parts, that were not connected to an OMOD (something like that), I was then given the option to overwrite them, I chose yes, was this correct or should I deactivate the Mod and set it up again, this time selecting no?

What version of MMM are you installing? Are you sure you have the latest version? If you're using the latest version (3.7b3) the resources, e.g. meshes and textures, should all be in a BSA file and not loose resources. I suggest you check the current MMM thread for latest download locations.

Basically your MMM is OVERWRITTING some files that one of your other OMODs have put there. Im pretty sure it is a mod like OOO or Frans. You shouldnt notice anything, just one texture/mesh has been overwritten.

It really depends on what it conflicts with. In OBMM you can see which files are conflicting with the mod you wish to install. But the over-writes were almost undoubtably necessary for MMM to function. I do reccomend trying to learn how to use bain as it can be used more efficiently and effectively with just a tad bit more initial effort. Anyway yeah its probably nothing to worry about, but in the future you can check the conflicts out beforehand.

I downloaded version 355b5 from Tesnexus and when installing it I installed the vanilla option, not Fran or OOO. The conflicts did involve the meshes and textures but back to my original question, which should I of selected yes or no?

99% of the time "Yes" is correct.
Pretty much the only time it is wrong is when your putting an older/un-fixed object in.

Thats my opinion though. I do that everytime and so far only minor errors.

I just ran the scan to check for conflicts and it seems the Unofficial Oblivion Patch, Shivering Isles Patch, Official Mods Patch and Weapon Expansion Pack are all conflicting with it, they're coloured red which indicates Major conflict.

Oh, does the fact that I chose to overwrite the files fix any problems, at least any serious ones?

And do you realize that MMM 3.5.5 is a very old version and has lot of bugs once again and issue has well..

MMM 3.7b3 is new version and all the meshes and textures are now stored in bsa format..

You should upgrade once again to new version, but, first you will have to remove the old version first.

Also the OBMM conflict detector is worthless. Don't listen to it.

Thank you I'll do that now, tell me after uninstalling MMM, will there be any problems with the files connected to the conflict, as I did choose the overwrite options during instalation?

You should uninstall the MMM resources then reinstall the other resources.from the unofficial patches.

I forgot to say thanks to everyone yesterday. I uninstalled all the Mods and then started again, I also installed the newest version of MMM, with zero conflicts.

Just something I'd like to check on, whilst installing this Mod I chose the 50% extra damage and 100% armour/weapon durability. With the weapon/armour durability increase, does this have too much of an adverse effect on leveling the Armourer skill, as I do like to level that skill up?
