Just finished dead money...

Post » Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:12 pm

I have to say, not my favorite dlc I've ever purchased. I enjoyed the creepy aspect of everything. I definitly got the presence of a dead villa and casino. The companions were different to say the least, loot was bountiful, and the chips was a really interesting currency.

There were a few things that became incredibly annoying/ nuisance to deal with. I won't drop any spoilers but I'm sure everyone who has played dead money walked out of there with a sense of relief. When I got back to my novaculite home I actually said " man it feels good to be home.". Laughed to myself and began putting my martinis on display.

Overall I give dead money a 3/5. One dlc I can never see myself playing again.

So does my 36 gold bars. (I dropped one. And then I forgot to grab the snowglobe! Oh sugar! )

But I will agree that it was a relief to get back. Can you believe it? A game like you like because its a relief when you finally get done with it..

I liked Dead Money, made me joyful every time I came upon Buffout or some food. Definitely had that "survival" feel and sometimes that's not for everyone. I thought it was really fun because it made me think about my decisions thoughtfully seeing how my life was on the line. hardcoe mode was brutal because I would constantly be checking to make sure my current companion would not die so as I would not die. So yeah you had to work for it, but there was a reward right? It was a great story and it was fun to explore. I think it's that sense of relief that you get upon completion is what makes it so unique. Might as well have given me a T-shirt that said: "I Survived the Sierra Madre" and I would have worn that thing with pride. But I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea .

My thoughts exactly.

OWB is the best DLC IMO

It was especially annoying for me when me health glitched and kept depleting :brokencomputer: until the ending cutscene. I'm dreading going back on this character.

I didn't find it particularly challenging the first time through and it's replay value is really bad. The second time through, it's the same environmental problems you had the first time so you know where the radios or emitters are.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good challenge. However DM passes more into the realm of frustration and annoyance. The great story and characters almost save it, but not quite. Overall I'd give DM 3/10.

9/10 for me. I started NV for the fith time lastnight and once i left Goodsprings i headed straight to abandoned BoS bunker to do DM again. I think its a brilliant piece of DLC. The only good thing about HH was the scenery 5/10. OWB 7/10, very good, I just love Muggy and my crazy Toaster. Hopeing for a 10/10 for LR.

I enjoyed Dead Money, and aside from the Vault with the speakrs being largely undestroyable, I think the 'I hate speakers' people are just on a bandwagon. I didn't have a problem with speakers to be honest.

(I was disappointed the resteraunt in the Sierra Madre wasn't accessible though :sadvaultboy:
