Hi. I just got Daggerfall, and I have a few questions...
1: How do I run? As in run, not walk. I always seem to be moving slowly.
2: I've seen videos on YouTube, and the camera seems to move with the mouse. How do I look around and move like in the videos? I know about having to hold alt down, but is there any way to do it automaticaly?

Go to controls, then Mouse, and there should be an option there to change from pointer to go where the arrow points or something.

Yeah, I found that out, but I can't run. It says in the options it's "P" but I've pressed it and nothing happend. Thanks anyway, though.

When its set to P you have to hold it down to run. Reassign it to CAPSLOCK and it'll be a toggle, which I think is what you want.

If running doesn't work properly, it's probably because you aren't running the game properly (read: through DOSbox). Read the stickies.

I don't use DosBox. When I click on the icon, it just runs itself.

Again, that's your problem right there. Go read the stickes and run the game through DOSbox.

How are you running Daggerfall? If you're running it through windows XP you will get loads of problems and your processor will be way too fast, thats why you're having problems running anywhere. DosBox is the best and easiest way to run Daggerfall.

Like the others said, DOSBOX is the only way to go. Trying to run it on a modern processor without at least using a slowdown utility is an exercise in futility. Ironically, faster processors make your character move slower.

As to using the mouse to look around, his escape, hit the mouse tab, and select "view based". Then, if you ever need the mouse cursor back, just hit "enter" to toggle it back and forth.

I want to know how OP got past the main menu on XP. :poke:

But don't even bother trying to accomplish anything on XP...just use DOSBox to save your own sanity (and this forum's bandwidth).
