Just Got Dragon Age What Can I Expect?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 6:21 pm

Thanks I was able to get the sword. Its two handed though and sten is my two handed warrior but I don't use him much. I'm in the fade right now and actually really like it. I just got all the shapeshifting forms and just backtracking to get all the essence fonts. Not sure if I'm going to head to the forest after this or wrap up the arl quest and go for the urn. I'm level 10 and I don't know if that will be enough to take care of the side boss in denirum?

That was a good idea, getting all the additional essences from the Fade that you can. You might want to alternate between Denerim and the Brecilian quest next, leaving Orzammar for last, but I don't remember which priorities I set at the time. I would work on the Sacred Ashes urn quest too. I'm not sure which side quest the forumites were referring to. Anyway, have fun.

I just finished the fade! It was pretty cool and now I'm headed to the brecilian forest. Is there anything special I need to do to get the legendary loot?

Iirc, it should be pretty obvious how to get the special items. It's towards the end of that whole area/questline. Trying not to spoil anything, but it's just a small, self explanatory puzzle.

EDIT: Maybe no "self explanatory," but they do give you the answer in game (I think).

Well, getting the special loot is certainly very difficult, but it's pretty self-explanatory. Once you stumble upon the puzzle exploration of the forest will yield all you need to solve it. (doesn't mean you'll be able to beat it though)

The special loot in the forest comes in 4 pieces. 3 are guarded by very powerful Revenants and the last is guarded by a unique shade and 3 greater shades.

It can be done at level 10, but be prepared to save often and those Revenants will KICK YOUR ASS.

So I just tried doing the morrigan companion quest and got owned by flemeth. This is the first time I've been truly dominated. Any tips please?

3 ranged, 1 melee. Makes sure to keep your ranged guys spaced. If your character is a mage, is should be easy. Making sure whoever is healing isn't attacking to avoid catching her eye is always a good idea.

If you happen to have a trapper, set a boatload of traps on the ground where flemeth transforms pre-fight.

Or you can do what I did, let Flemeth live and still get the grimoire from her. You have the option of making a deal with her; you get the contents of the chest but Flemeth isn't seen again in the game.

To me, the Revenants in the game were too difficult to beat. For other quests and rewards, there are a couple of sets of armor inside the underground ruins (once you're able to get through the magic barrier) that you get after a relatively easy puzzle and some fairly challenging battles. One set of heavy armor and a set of lighter armor. I found the latter elven armor good enough to use for the rest of the game, for my mages at least. The heavy armor is more suited for Sten.

That is what I do. Flemeth is awesome. And she is played by Kate Mulgrew, who played one of my favorite starship captains! :D

Yea I let flemeth live. Right now I'm finishing up the dalish ruins but the juggernaut suit of armor will have to wait because the revenants are pretty tough. How do you expand inventory space because I'm running out of space quickly?

I enjoyed Kate Mulgrew's voice acting. "And you, Gray Warden, do you understand? I give you that which I value above all else because you must succeed", or words to that effect. Flemeth is going to be in Dragon Age 2 also, though I don't know if Mulgrew is.

If I remember right, you can buy another backpack. It's been a while since I played the game. I hope you've been periodically going to your camp (the upper-right box on your map screen) to talk to your party members and to buy and sell from the dwarf merchant and his son. The backpacks were cheapest at the Ostagar quartermaster, but you can buy them elsewhere.

Yea I check in at the party camp every so often to talk to everyone and enchant weapons. I haven't seen a backpack for purchase though. Next time I go I'll check it out. I just finished the dalish ruins and now I'm on my way to denerum to do the urn quest.

Its an okay game but i couldnt make it far enough into the game to reach the "rewarding" abilities. It just got rather dull and the story wasnt blowing me away enough to stick with the dreadful combat. Also that trailer is so fabricated its not even funny, I understand that you cant have those type of graphics and have the game remain playable but some of the textures and other graphical features were just horrendous.I guess its just an aquired taste and maybe it was just how i went about the game.

Yes, Mulgrew is in DA2, I can recognize that voice anywhere:

they way things are going, I can easily see Flemeth becoming the series narrator and a reoccurring major character.

I'm in denerum right now and wow it is big with tons of stuff to do. I get a good fantasy city vibe from it. Is there anything specific I should di and/or make sure I don't miss here? I only have two drakes so I can't get the armor yet. I'm doing the sidequests here from the chanty board and also doing some past side quests that involved a few npc's from here. And of course I'm here for the urn which is part of the main quest.

Don't know if you have the Darkspawn Chronicles, but it was quite fun to destroy Denerim playing as a Hurlock.

There is a difficult choice you will eventually have to make regarding the urn that is very important
Spoiler
it's possible to lose a few party members and it's also possible to unlock a new speciallization

Well I just finished the game. Clocked in at a little over 58 hours and I loved every minute of it! Thanks for all the replies everyone and I'm interested to see how da2 turns out.

Before we lay this thread to rest can anyone give me some feedback on the witch hunt dlc please. I finished the game with my rep maxed out with morrigan and really enjoyed her character. Is the dlc worth checking out?

NO

Witch hunt is bad, very bad, you get a 2 minute cutscene with morrigan at the end, it answers 0 questions, raises more, and you may aswell just watch it on youtube to save money and tme.

Thanks a lot for saving me the money I'll check it out on the tube. Really disappointed because I really like the morrigan character. There's only one possible ending to the dlc?
