Just got my first Ebony Greatsword...some questions.

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 3:32 pm

Hello,

As the title says, I just found an ebony greatsword. Pretty soon my smithing will be high enough for me to improve it. Right now its a little less powerful then my flawless skyforge greatsword. That should change when I have more smithing options.

Anyway, I have two questions for the community:

1.) Which enchantments should I put on it? My main sword, the flawless skyforge one, currently has soul trap on it...should I put soul trap on it as well?

2.) This question is more important then the first, if I do enchant the ebony sword, is there any way to wipe the enchantment if I don't like it? Or can you just enchant right over a previous enchantment?

Thank you for your time.

Enchantments are permanent. and i personally like the absorb health enchantment because it means you have to use potions and heal spells less

Having a weapon with just soul trap is pretty useless unless you have another weapon with some other damaging enchant. Absorb life is useful to cut down on the number of potions used, absorb fatigue will let you spam power attacks to your hearts content, and shock damage is useful if you can't decide on anything else.

Ebony Greatsword with a drain soul enchant ? Now why does that seem so familiar... *starts thinking about emo orcs and childish Daedric Princes*

I'd personally go for fire or drain health, depending on if health or damage is an issue you're dealing with. (Don't pure damage enchants do more damage than drain health ?)

Good idea, I don't think I have that enchantment available yet.

I have another question. I have many soul gems. From petty soul to grand soul........how does this effect the enchantment? Does using a grand soul make the enchantment any better then using a petty soul? Or is that just for recharging purposes?

Again, thanks for any info!

Never mind, just answered my own question.

A petty soul will turn an amulet into 1% magic resist while a grand soul does 9%.
