I just got Morrowind for the PC

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2009 6:38 am

As stated, i got it for PC because of mods. I have played morrowind on my xbox for hundreds of hours so im fine as far as that goes but i just want some mods that would enhance the experience. i got the better bodies mod and a graphics mod from filefront. So, are there any more that are essential?

We get numerous threads like this, but apart from following the obvious links, it's really just up to you as to what qualifies as 'Essential'. What did you like/dislike about the vanilla game?

The only essentials are probably the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1041353 and the http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1041190 or http://www.etherealsoftware.com.au/patch/. The difference between MPP and UMP is that the MPP is just a continueing of the UMP with new things and combines also some little fixes (like the cattle fix). The UMP is more stable and does just that what it has to do.
I use myself the UMP, because i'm not happy with the changes that the MPP makes. Anyway, both MCP and UMP/MPP are unofficial patches which fixes numerous bugs that Bethesda didn't fixed.
The rest is more a matter of personal taste, as everyone plays as he/she likes. Even the mentioned unofficial patches are optional and you don't have to use it, but they improve the game.

I'm playing the GOTY eddition, without Tibunal & Bloodmoon installed. I reccomend the simple few Mods in my signature, it makes the enviroments look better, and the characters(incl. my own) look amazingly better.

If you want a good replacer that stays very true to the original heads, do take a look at this thread:

(My italics)

Really? "The UMP is more stable": what do you base this on candesco? I understand that some people (yourself and haplo spring to mind) aren't keen on some of the tweaks that have been added to the MPP, moving it beyond a simple bugfix. But the MPP being more unstable? What do you base this on? It's the first time I've heard it.
