Quit the game. I tried to play Oblivion without mods and was diagnosed with clinical depression two weeks later.

STOP READING THE FORUMS NOW!

Play for a while without asking us for hints/tips/advice. Enjoy the game as it was meant to be enjoyed, discover things the good old-fashioned way, make mistakes, learn from them, etc.

Once you've gained some experience, come back here and then ask for some advice/mod suggestions/tips and tricks for your second playthrough.

Well, if you feel the urge to start complaining about something you find in Oblivion visit the Oblivion Mod Forum!

Chances are, it's been fixed with a mod.

Hope you enjoy! :foodndrink:

remember that it isn't anything like Skrim in terms of game-play and then play something else.

uninstall it and go play morrowind or daggerfall. if you do decide to play it make sure that you download at least 100 mods to make the game playable. :) or just FCOM will do for most people.

I got a little character building guide here in my signature that you can check out. Beyond that I give you 3 peaces of life saving advice:

1. There is no leveling problem, all character builds are viable (Except Breton's under the sign of the Mage)

2. Alchemy really does solve everything.

3. Don't post a topic about your Breton character under the Mage Birthsign. In fact, never play with this build.

The second poster jumped the gun.
First: Make your character.
Second: See that hole in the wall? Go through it.
Third: Loot and mind the rats.
Forth: Go through the other hole, pick up the bow, pick up the arrows aim at the bucket and shoot it.
Fifth: Loot the sack, loot the chest, take your rags off and wear the armour and go through the door by the goblin.
Sixth: Kill the rats, loot the chest, kill the zombie, got through the tunnels and pick up what is useful. Don't forget the rats.
Seventh: Then run into the emperor and his guards, pick what you like, then follow and help them. Don't forget the touch. The you choose again.
Finally: Escape the sewers.

Enjoy.
