Hi I bought this game On PS3 and enjoyed the crap out of it, well over a hundred hours but encountered the lag and major bugs.

I just bought the PC version...wow. I have the game running @1080p with 2x antropicfilter and 2xAA with high texture size (only got a 9800GT 1gb) . The difference is amazing. I am also running the 4GB loader and my load times are like 2 seconds compared to the console's 2 minutes. Only thing however I would mention is that the UI is a massive bunch of bull crap on PC.

You get used to the UI. There are mods that alleviate some of the pain, too.

ya, go to skyrimnexus.com, find their top 100 and scroll down till you come to the first UI/inventory mod. while not perfect it's a huge improvement over the default one.

and just gotta say....aahhhh...another convert. welcome to the light. :tongue: LOL

I had oblivion and fallout new Vegas fully modded with texture packs. Unfortunately it's the family computer so I can't go on it that often

Owain, the UI is crappy on all platforms. The Xbox and the PS3 just hide this fact better.

If you have a 2 minute load time on your PS3 then your copy of the game is broken. And I think the UI is rather good on console. Somewhat sketchy on PC but ones you get used to it, it's as smooth as a baby's bottom.

Check in your options, the game defaults to controller and this makes the menu a [censored] and also reduces frame rates in some peoples cases. Hope this help a little.

Ah thanks I'll try it also I'm squeezing about 36FPS so I don't think I'll get any extra frames

If I get home and realize that in over 150 hours I did not think to check this basic default setting, I'm going to hurt myself.

Hey, I just made the switch myself! And now im wondering why I didnt make the switch sooner. Its soooo much better. And having the abilitie to mod the game just makes it that much better.

Also, just so you know, I came from PS3 as well. And I also found the controls on PC to be crap, but I found an EXCELLENT solution to this. I use the software MotionJoy to connect my ps3 controller to my pc and emulate it as an Xbox controller. That way I get to play skyrim on the PC and still use the same controller I know and love. Just make sure to set the set the motionjoy software to "Xbox 360 controller emulater", because skyrim is only designed to work with xbox controllers on the pc (you will have to set up the controls in settings to match what you are use to on the PS3, because Xbox and PS3 controller setup are slightly different.) After you set it up, just start skyrim and enjoy! PC Skyrim with a PS3 controller!
