So, I just bought the PC version of Skyrim on the latest Steam sale. I've already played through the console version of the game, so I'm hoping to find some mods that make the game more interesting.
I guess I should start by asking what sort of utility programs I'll need to download. I've used mods on Morrowind and Oblivion, so I have some experience with installing them on those games. Are there any Skyrim script extenders, mod managers, or other utility programs like Wrye Mash that I'll want for running a good number of mods? Also, I'm more used to installing mods on the disc versions of Morrowind and Oblivion, but I've never installed them to Steam games.
As for mods, I'm looking first for major overhauls. I remember having a fun time running FCOM convergence in Oblivion. Is there anything like Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul or Martigen's Monster Mod for Skyrim? I might consider some new races. Not too interested in extra quest lines unless they are done well. I may consider mods that add extra landmasses similar to what Tamriel Rebuilt did with Morrowind. Also, I should probably also pick up any bug fixes and patches out there.
