I made a second character to get a break from my Warrior character and some of her really unfun downsides. My second character is basically a modified Witchhunter: Breton with Marksman, Sneak, Destruction, Conjuration, Illusion, Armorer, and Alchemy.

I wear clothing on her to maximize run speed and spell efficiency, favoring a combat style of kiting and range.

So, I just got done doing the Dagon Shrine quest with her. It took me a couple saves to figure out what I had to do to complete the quest, but once I did it was one of the most fun things I've done yet in Oblivion. Main Quest spoilers follow, if you care about that sort of thing.

So, I knew I had to grab the Mysterium Xarxes but I also knew I couldn't handle a cave full of Mythic Dawn cultists in conjured armor in a fight. So I employed a strategy that capitalized on my character's lack of armor encumberance. I used some of my custom spells to assassinate Harrow, looted all my gear, grabbed the Xarxes and RAN.

I ducked and wove around the cavern to get the cultists all chasing in a clump then made a break for the exit cave. I sprinted down the cave past more cultists who conjured their armor and weapons and joined the chase. I took a wrong turn and ran into a dead end in the living quarters, with the entire pack hot on my heels. Managed to jump on top of a bed and jump over their heads to escape out of the room, casting my custom heal-over-time spell along the way to keep myself healthy.

Running along the cavern tunnels, I got myself looped around the wrong way and flew past the exit. Pausing the game to check the map, I realized the only way out was through a tunnel filled with the pack of angry cultists hounding me. So I had to double back past the herd again, but with nothing to jump off of I just flipped around and sprinted RIGHT ALONGSIDE THEM DOWN THE CORRIDOR, towards the exit.

I started dropping some conjured Ghosts and Skeletons to slow the pack down as I made my way to the exit. Managed to lose the entire PACK when I got to the exit cavern, made my way outside and fast-traveled to Cloud Ruler Temple ASAP.

So, in short, I made the entire Mythic Dawn chase me like the bungling bloodhounds in a Bugs Bunny cartoon. XD
